The vast halls are decorated with marble and amazing masonry. My eyes widen at the sheer size and magnificence of the halls of the Woodland Realm. In looking at the beauty of the kingdom I almost lose mother, who is walking quickly to a destination I don't know about. Our footsteps echo through the cavernous halls. As we turn a corner we reach a room more extravagant as the others. The marble sparkles and there is intricate designs etched into stone and wood. I'm front of of is a throne, grand and tall, and on it sits one who must be the king of the Mirkwood elves.
His long blonde hair rests on his shoulders, and he holds himself I'm an upright positions. His I've blue eyes pierce mine and I quickly look away. "Hello Tauriel" , he says in a slow, dark, noble voice. "Hello King Thranduil" she says and bows slightly. He looks at me with a scowl on his face so I do the same as my mother. "You requested my presence King, and I am now here" she says. "I requested your presence, not the presence of this", he gestures at me, "child. Did you find her wandering in the forest? Did she try to harm you Tauriel?" He asks. She takes a deep breath. "This, King Thranduil" she says, putting her arm around me, "is my daughter Areth".
His eyes widen and his jaw drops. "She is not full elf Tauriel" he says. He looks at her disapprovingly, his mind processing what happened, slowly realizing the situation. "That heir of Durin" he growls, as he stands up to pace, his robes trailing behind him as he flips his silky hair over his shoulder. "I didn't approve of your marriage in the first place and now you have a child! You have brought this mutt into the world. Middle Earth does not need half blood children like her around!". His fists clench and his brow furrows. "I love him, and I love her" my mother says matter of factly.Thranduil yells I'm outrage. "And any daughter of his is not welcome here. You Tauriel, are lucky that I care about you like a daughter so I will not disown you, but she needs to leave".
My heart skips a beat. All the blood drains from my face and a lump forms in the back of my throat. I knew I wouldn't be wanted here or anywhere. I feel hot tears stream down my cheeks. The elven king is probably laughing at me now, but I can't help it. My breathing is shaky and my hands are to. Mother comes up to me and embraces me, a hand around my back and her arm protectively over my head. "If my beloved daughter is not allowed here and will be forced to leave, so shall I" she says, keeping her arms possessively around me, stroking my hair as I cry into her shoulder. "She is part of me now. I love Kili and her, and I do not care if there is dwarf in her blood, but I love her more than life itself. Same goes for Kili. He is a dwarf and may appear different on the outside, but he has a better heart than most on the inside" mother declares. "If you don't want her you don't want me either".
Thranduil looks at her with a horrified expression. He paces back and forth a few more times, finally sitting back into his throne, looking at me with those disapproving eyes. I sniffle and wipe my red, swollen eyes. Mother rubs my back and King Thranduil looks at her for a few more seconds before taking a deep breath.
"Fine" he grumbles, rolling his eyes. "If that animal must stay for you to as well, she may". I breathe a sigh of relief, even though he called me an animal. "Bring them to their rooms" Thranduil calls to some servants. Several seconds later two elven maids come to direct us to our rooms. As we turn around, I see another elf with blonde hair standing in the doorway of the throne room. He is dressed in all leather, with a sword slung on his belt and a bow in his hand. His arrows hang out of his quiver which is slung over his back. "Tauriel" he says in a surprised yet soft tone. "Legolas".
