They will say they read the book, fangirl over it, and most of the time, they don't know what they're talking about!

I'm not saying everyone who finds Ansel Elgort attractive is a fake fan, because then I would be a fake fan, but when you're really only fangirling about the movie and SAYING it's for the book...
