Forgiveness

Daisy was doing revision for her end of year exams which take place in 2 weeks time. She was expecting Rosalina to appear at her door in 1 hour so Rosalina could help Daisy be ready for maths. 

1 hour later someone had knocked at her door. It wasn't Rosalina however, it was her stepdad. 

"Come in stan," she said while rolling her eyes.

"Hey don't come at me with that now. I came to speak with you," Stan said. To Daisy's shock he wasn't aggressive and didn't threaten to hurt her at all. In fact he was almost smiling.

Daisy noticed this immediately and started to be a little nicer. "What do you wanna chat to me about?"

"I'm sorry" Stan said. Daisy was shocked.

"For what exactly?" Daisy asked. It had been a long 2 and a half years living with Stan. Daisy is hoping for a big apology.

"For being an absolute cunt to you," Stan said. "I never really realised it, but you're a great young teenage girl. And I wish I had a daughter like you. I never had decent parents when I was a kid. Got abused, beaten, sometimes it was the glass bottle they smacked at me. It was a tough childhood to say the least. But what that did was encourage me to be a better person. I got straight As in all of my exams. Which is why I got the job I did get. Two years later my parents died in a plane crash. I was devastated. That's where I've started drinking loads. This terrible habit which I've been trying to get rid of. I then had a girlfriend, things got really toxic. We had a son who I never saw since we broke up 8 days after he was born. Turns out it was the correct decision she made. She said if I'm gonna continue to be abusive then I am not ready to have a son yet. Not ready at all. And the past 2 and a half years dealing with you and your sister showed me how correct she was. I thought treating you the way I was treated would make you work and work and work. But it just made you hate me. And this didn't affect me much because I've been busy with work. And now I'm taking my time and apologising to you hear because I love u like I'd love my son. and I wish I could see my son again just one time,"

Once again, Stan makes Daisy cry, but this was completely different. Daisy sprung up and hugged her stepfather.

"Stan, I can't tell you how much I appreciate what you've just said," Daisy said. "I can admit I haven't made this easy for you as I've not been the best school student when it comes to behaviour. But this was what I wanted. I lost my father years ago and I loved him so much. Was such a great father who made me who I am today. And I wish you during the last couple years were half as good as him. This isn't me trying to be spiteful. This was just how I've felt and how much I wished for you to be like my father. And its not too late. Love you too Stan."

Stan smiled. "I'll leave you too your work," he says as he leaves off and Rosalina heads into the room. 

"He looks happier than usual," Rosalina said.

"Well miracles can happen can't they?" Daisy laughed.  "Lets get onto studies,"

*two days later*

Toadette was in her room revising for exams. Her parents were angry at her as they got a report about Toadette's recent detention, which was her first of the term. Toadette's behaviours had been better over the past few weeks. There is one person she really wants to talk to. Her ex best friend Birdo. She wasn't ready to speak to Daisy or Rosalina yet because she feared they would turn her down in a flash. She messaged Birdo.

Toadette: Hey, its been a while. You must be wondering why I'm messaging. If you are free and hungry, could you meet me at Dino's Pizza Palace, the new restaurant near La winch. I'd love to talk and apologise.

Birdo was taking a break from revising Chemistry. She saw the text message. What's she messaging me for?

She replied back.

Birdo: How do I know to trust you?

Toadette: Because I miss u. A lot, and I'm really starting to realise what a jerk I am

Birdo: Really? Took ya long enough

Toadette: Will you accept my request. I know how much you love pizza :)

Birdo: Hmmms. OK. I am pretty hungry. Last chance though Toadette. You pull any funny shit on me again. That's ittttt.

Toadette: Its fine, you don't need to worry about anything. Meet at 18:30.

*18:30*

Birdo arrived at the new restaurant waiting for Toadette. However she heard a knock at the window and saw Toadette was already seated inside. Wow she was dead serious about the whole thing.

Birdo finally enters the restaurant and sits down with Toadette.

"Hey Birdo, how've u been and all?" Toadette asked. 

"Um not too bad," Birdo replied. "Should we order?"

"Already done that. Ordered chips to share and two pepperoni pizzas with garlic bread. Sounds good?" Toadette asked.

"Ok then," Birdo said, although she would have rather ordered meat feast but its cool. "Talk."

"I just wanna apologise for the absolute bitch I have been to you and everyone. I know I haven't been as bad to you as I have to others but I did make you and Yoshi break up and I also was just awful to everyone in general. Especially Daisy and Rosalina. I was awful to them. I barely even speak to Pauline now as she seems to be changing just like I'm trying to do right now. I've missed you so much and remember all the fun things just us two used to do last year. This is why I decided to bring you here. I wanted to be as nice as I can when making this apology. I wanna be a better person. Since I was younger I was horrible. People forget this. But I played a part as to why Peach is in the position she is in. I need to change and this is the place to start,"

"Aww," Birdo said to Toadette. "I forgive you," 

This gave Toadette a big smile on her face.

"And I'll help you go the right direction. It will take some time for the others to forgive you but I can." She hugged Toadette. Right then the food came and after they had eaten and had dessert at the dessert bar. They were due to part ways. However Toadette wasn't quite done yet.

"Birdo, I'm glad we are good now. However, I need to tell you something very important that you can't spread to anyone."

"Thats fine," Birdo said, go on.

"I've really really fucked up......"

Left on a cliffhanger. Toadette makes the first step into becoming a better person but how costly will what she had done in the past be for her. She had put everyone at Mushroom High in danger, she has told Birdo. And Daisy has finally forgiven Stan for all the abuse he had given her. What happens next? Find out next chapter.

Ps: I am happy I'm back after 4-5 months of being away. I've really missed wattpad and while I still have GCSEs I will try and find time to finish off these stories and have new ones. Hope you liked this chapter
