Chance Of An Opportunity

The whole soccer team had a meeting with Djhon before their game with Lightning High School.

"So guys, we already know that we have qualified for the round of 64. That means we don't need to win this match. I have to go and play a match for club. We lost the first leg 3-1 and I missed that Match to play the game against Super Star. Mario is going to come and watch me play since I might give him a chance to see what club soccer is like. So I will tell you the line up for today. Goalkeeper, defence and defensive midfield is the same. Apart from Dave being put back in from the bench! Waluigi you are captain and you will play CAM! Yoshi you go up front. Troops and Boo you are both on the wing you two can decide between each other which wing you will go!"

"So we don't have to win?" Waluigi asked.

"Well no, we are ahead by four points but it make a us look good doesn't it!" Djhon said. They all nodded. "Guys it's still a strong side!"

The team nodded as they started walking.

"So?" Mario said. "Where are we going!"

"We have to go to the train station so we will take the bus there!"

"Ok!" Mario said, heading off!

Rosalina and Daisy also travelled with the team to the Leafs Academy arena. The journey was 1 hour long.

Djhon and Mario arrived at the Arena of his team which was called Blue Stars! They were playing a team called Orlando Lions, who beat them 3-1 in the first leg.

Mario watched as Djhons team was warming up. Djhon was playing up front despite liking playing CAM better.

At Lighning High School the game has begun and Mushroom High were still going strong without their two key players! It was game on!

Mario watched as Djhon picked a cheeky pass the Blue Stars number 11 who scores the first goal. Blue Stars 1-0 Orlando Lions. Wow, thought Mario, And I'm hearing that this team are only the sixth best team in the league! Blue Stars were knocked out at this stage last year.

At Lightning High the score was 1-0 to Lightning. They had a free kick which was saved and their number 10 had a follow up. Mushroom high have the ball with Troops passing it to Waluigi. Waluigi does a one two with Yoshi and he gets himself into a 1 on 1. He sidefoots it bottom right corner. GOAL! Great finish to make it 1-1!

Back at Blue Stars arena, the other team have a free kick. The number 10 putting it in the box. Oh no one touches it and it's hit the post. And the number 7 gets a touch on it and scores! On the stroke of half time It's Blue Stars 1-1 Orlando Lions 4-2 to lions on aggregate.

Well, talk about being taken on surprise! Blue Stars have dominated the whole half and one defensive error leads them to defend a free kick.  The ball somehow manage to hit the post and the number 7 just couldn't miss. Blue Stars in deep trouble! Half time whistle blows.

Back at Lightning High and it is still one a piece. Lightning High were 25 yard from goal in the right side. Their number 11 crosses it. Number 8 with a header!(GOAL) They've retaken the lead again! He barely touched it and the keeper couldn't stop it from going on the left corner. Lightning High 2-1 Mushroom High. Mushroom high will end the first half losing for the first time since last year where they were 3-1 down at half time to Flowers! That's the last thing a team wants. But one pass down the right hand side. He whips a perfect ball and the number 8 only had a slight touch which Morton couldn't save.

Djhon and his team went for the team talk. They had to have a 15 minute break it wasn't like school football where you have 5 minutes. His manager started speaking. "Guys that was an unlucky way to end the half. This is much better than the first leg! Now I can see us getting more goals. We need to be clinical now. We want to make that final more than any other so we need to make sure of it!" He said.
