Regional round part 2

The inter boys are set to do their field events. Yoshi and Djhon went for high jump. Mario and Waluigi for long jump. Luigi and Bowser Junior for triple jump. Bowser and Petey for shot put. Troops and Dave are for discus, Javelin goes to Michael and Toad and Funky Kong and Dry Bowser did hammer throw.

In the high jump both Yoshi and Djhon started at 1.71 both comfortably clearing that height. They kicked on string with their high jump. Mario and Waluigi both jumped 6.62 which was a great start for them. In the shot put, well, its not looking good for Bowser who had massively damaged his right arm in the first throw. This wan't good. This meant that Coach DK would wither have to use his reserve who had a PB of 13m or make Bowser use his left hand, which Bowser hasn't used before. The only reason why he would risk it is because, although Bowser throws with his right hand he writes with his left. The Shot Put continues. The medical team are trying to do as much as they can to treat Bowser's hand. Petey on the other hand threw 15.30 but that wouldn't be anything close to making up for Bowser's lost points.

Troops got 36m with the discus which was 2 behind what he ended up with last time. Dave threw and impressive 40m. He has time to make up for it. In the Javelin Toad and Michael threw 48 and 46m respectively and in the hammer Funky Kong and Dry Bowser both threw stinkers at the start. 42 and 44m. Coach DK was furious as those two didn't even bother to train. In the triple jump Luigi and Diddy Kong had already finished the competition since they started earlier than the other fields. With Luigi, well it just gets better and better for him. 13.40 is his new PB. And believe it or not. That didn't even make the top 3. Diddy Kong also showed improvement as he jumped 13.30. The two jumpers placed 4th and 5th however overall they still scored the second most points out of all the schools.

The high jump was coming close to a conclusion. Yoshi and Djhon and one Flowers Boy are left. They each only have 1 jump. 1.92 was the height. Yoshi had never cleared this height. The Flowers Boy put all the pressure on the two of them when he eased 1.92. Yoshi was next. He ran jumped and CLEARS IT! Djhon applauds him. The improvement he made was unbelievable. Considering he wore crutches 6 months ago only God knows how he is here competing today. Djhon adds to Mushroom High's glory by clearing the height as well. He did foul 1.83 and skipped that height. Yoshi was clean.

Waluigi gave Mario a surprise when he went and jumped 6.75. That's a huge personal best. Mario fell short with 6.72. These were both solid jumps. Troops was frustrated in the discus as once again, he fell short. That's twice he has under performed. He had been throwing mid 45s in training but doesn't seem to produce it on the big stage. Dave threw 42m to add to his good performance. Funky Kong and Dry Bowser need to take themselves to the training ground and rediscover the form they had earlier. They both threw far off their Pbs and that was costly considering Funky Kong threw close to 60m in the last competition. Coach DK was unhappy at the pair of them. Michael and Toad both got 52 and 55m respectively. Good performances by them.

In the Shot Put Coach DK made the reserve (Known as Roy Koopa) Throw for Bowser as Coach DK didn't want to risk it. Roy threw miles above his PB getting a 13.78. Things really needed to improve in the field if Mushroom High Inter Boys were going to have a chance in this National Final. Only 5 competitors made the top 3 in their competitions. Change was needed quick. Bowser Junior showed character jumping 3m 20 in the pole vault.

The field events were all done. Inter Boys took a team talk with Coach DK.

"Gents, good work out there. However, this needs to be improved if we want to get that cup in the National Finals. We placed 5th overall in field events. Now, I know how good our track is but that isn't going to save us. Some of the performances out there. Fantastic, Waluigi, great PB, Yoshi, fantastic high jumping. But then, there were some disgraceful ones too. Dry Bowser and Funky Kong? What the fuck was that? Because of you two being lazy you both threw crap. Well its not going to be a great next few weeks for you two, I'll tell you that! When we get back on the coach after the relays. I am going to give each of you a distance which you should be aiming to get close to if we want to win this."
