--Third Person--
Scott and Mitch stood at the back of the church in their separate dressing rooms. Scott on the left, Mitch on the right. Each waiting to get up to that alter and marry the hell out of each other. Andrew stood in front of the church doors as guests stopped coming in and were all seated, waiting for the handsome grooms to walk down the isle, arm in arm.
Scott and Mitch took in a deep breath before grabbing the door knobs and opening their doors. They stood, starstruck as they admired their one true love. They gave a little wave before walking to one another, Scott holding his arm for Mitch to slip his through. Sweet music started to play as they walked down the isle. Andrew stood up at the alter, smiling at his daddies with such happiness.
Music stopped as the grooms stood side by side at the alter dressed in beautiful flowers. They let out a deep breath as they turned toward each other, hand in hand, staring into each other's eyes.
"We have gathered here today to witness the unity of Scott Hoying and Mitch McCormick. The grooms have written their own vows. Mitch, take it away." Mitch took in a deep breath, remembering the vows he's been memorizing for the past month.
"Scott Hoying. My one true love. You are dearer to me than language has the power of telling. Sometimes I wonder if I'm just in one big dream because seeing the way you look at me is unbelievable. I don't understand how I even have someone like you but I do know that I'll never let go. It'd be impossible to do so because after all, you are my strength. My happiness. And if I were ever to lose you, I'd also lose myself.
I don't know what it is about you. Maybe it's the way nothing else matters when we're talking, or how you make me smile more than anyone else has. It could be the way you say the right thing at exactly the right time. But whatever it is, I just want you to know that it means everything to me. You touched the darkest part of my soul and lit it up. What once was lost is now found and I'm glad to have you by my side. I love you. So much." Scott and Mitch wiped the salty tears from their red faces and laughed with each other.
"Scott, your turn." Scott nodded to the pastor and took in a deep breath.
"Mitch. My one true love. You mean everything to me. I have seen the best of you, and the worst of you, and I choose both. I just want you, that's all. All your flaws, mistakes, smiles, giggles, jokes, sarcasm. Everything. I just want you. Your flaws aren't flaws to me. I always had people telling me that when you love someone, you have to accept their flaws. And it's strange, because I can't see a single flaw in you. Because I could watch you for a single minute and find a thousand things that I love about you.
When I first met you, I knew there was something about you. Though I've come to realize there's more than just something about you. It's, you. I saw that you were perfect and so I loved you. Then I saw that you were not perfect, and I loved you even more. I'm the happiest man in the world to call you mine, Mitch. I love you. So much."
The pastor didn't speak as he waited for Mitch and Scott to regain themselves from their crying fit, "Now, the rings." Andrew walked closer to the pastor and stood between his daddies.
He handed Mitch Scott's ring and Mitch took Scott's left hand in his right, holding the ring at the tip of his ring finger, "With this ring, I give you m-my heart. I promise from this day forward, you shall not walk alone. May my heart be your shelter, and my arms be your home." He slid the ring onto Scott's finger.
Andrew handed Mitch's ring to Scott, him doing the same, "With this ring, I give you my heart. I promise from this day forward, you shall not walk alone. May my heart be your shelter, and my arms be your home." Mitch wiped the tears from his face before holding onto Scott's hands.
"Scott Richard Hoying. Do you take Mitch to be your husband? In sickness and in health, richer or for poor, till death do you part?"
"I do. Always and forever."
"Mitchell Coby Michael McCormick. Do you take Scott to be your husband? In sickness and in health, richer or for poor, till death do you part?"
"I do. Always, and forever."
"I now pronounce you, husbands! You may kiss."
Scott and Mitch leaned forward, lips connecting in a passionate kiss.
And they loved each other always, and forever...
