"I've never shopped for a pet before so I don't know what I'm doing." I said as I opened the door of the pet shop for Mitch.

"Thank you. I have never owned a pet so I have no idea either."

"I guess we just go with it." We walked in, and there were kids running around, and adults looking with their kids, and adults frustrated over their kids indecisiveness. I laughed when a mother stomped her foot and walked out, leaving her family in shock. Mitch and I passed by them and headed for the cat section.

"Do you have any Sphynx kittens?" Mitch asked a salesperson.

"We have one left actually. Follow me." We followed her to the back of the store where one tiny gray, hairless kitten laid in a cage. I watched Mitch bend down and look in the cage. He seemed fascinated.

"I want him Scott."

"If you say so."

"I know so. He's so precious." The salesperson picked him up and handed him to Mitch. He awed when the tiny kitten started purring and licking his hand.

"He's ours. You think Andrew will like him?"

"If me, a grown ass man, likes him. I'm sure he will." He said with a giggle.

"Good. Let's go pay so we can get back."

"Okay Scotty."

--Mitch--

"Andrew! We're in your bedroom!"

"We? Who is h-SCOTTY!" He ran towards Scott and into his arms.

"Hey bud. Daddy has a present for you."

"Daddy does?" He looked over at me, still on Scott's lap.

"Scott and I both do. I really wanted to get you what you wanted for your birthday, so Scott helped and, well we got it. Or him, I should say."

"Him? Daddies..." Scott and I both looked at each other. Scott shrugged so I shrugged it off too.

"Here he is." I pulled the kitten out from his cage, "He's yours bud." I handed him to Andrew and the look on my son's face made me so happy.

"Oh my gosh! A kitty!"

"A Sphynx kitty bud. The one you wanted."

"He's exactly what I wanted. Thank you!"

"You're welcome honey." I joined in on the hug with Scott and Andrew. I kissed Andrew's cheek and he giggled when the kitty started purring.
