I smiled at the touching scene when a sudden jolt went through me, 'shit the day class.' I cursed. Niko looked up to me confused for a second, then her eyes widened at the same realisation.
'Fuuckkk....' I looked to Nishika and Chisaki with an apologetic smile, eyeing Yagari and Kaien in the background.
'Sorry I can't stay much longer, i'm pretty sure I have about a thousand humans roasting under the school that I need to take out of the oven.' I darted away, not letting them get a chance to ask me what the fuck kinda analogy that was. Trust me, I don't know either, take it up with the author.
I got to the front of the sun dorms, panting a little at how worn down I felt. It's just been thing after thing, after bloody motherfucking thing. I need sleep you guys, I can't function without it.
I looked in the windows around the base of the sundorm, seeing the humans in there, all tightly packed together. I didn't really notice the windows at first, I mean I forgot the basement even existed.
The glass for these things were always backed by cement, but obviously after the emergency protocols kicked in, whatever was released so that they would be functional. I mean it's a little inhumane to keep them together, all tightly squished without even a little daylight, it's not like it was built for vampires who hate sunlight.
I make my way down the stairs and open up the doors to the basement, eyes turning to me as they heard the metal creaking. I walked inside, leaving the door open so I don't accidentally shut us in, everyone looking at me with anticipation and fear.
'What's happening Ak- Zuruya-senpai?' a voice said from somewhere next to me. My eyes searched the crowd, landing on Mary, who was jumping up to get my attention. Jesus could you be anymore reckless.
I looked to the people around us, acutely aware of the fact that I couldn't say much in front of this crowd, otherwise I would risk outing literally the biggest secret of all time, well second biggest. Mary nearly just revealed the first biggest, mine.
'We're safe.' I say, looking her dead in the eyes. She nodded, understanding what I meant. I seriously wish I had enough energy to use telepathy right now, it would make this so much easier.
'Zuruya-senpai!' I heard again, somewhere in front of me. I looked out to see the crowd parting, a girl running to me. Kiki, the girl with the cat keyring.
Crash.
My eyes widened as I heard the sound of glass shattering, turning up to see a shadowy figure breaking through the window.
'BLOOD!' A distorted voice screeched, eyes red and hands more like claws, it was almost as the world was in slow motion as I watching it come crashing down.
The girl running to me turned too, looking up at the beast as it headed straight towards her, her eyes widened.
'Big sister...?' she whispered out before the beast came crashing down on her, the impact making both of them tumble and roll. Finally the world flooded back in, and time sped up, shrieks from all around me screaming bloody murder.
'Get off me! Get off! Nee-chan!' she screamed. I ran to her, growling as I pulled out my sword, but before I slashed it down, I saw it. The phone charm hangs from the beast's pocket.
It was her sister. Used to be.
I hesitated, looking down at the level E with horror, just as the monster looked up at me, leaping off the girl and coming right at me. 'Die you goddamn Vampire!' I yelled out, jabbing my sword at the monster and impaling its heart, my body finally working again.
It exploded into dust, settling down, and giving me a chance to breathe. I looked over at the girl on the floor and went to her side, kneeling down next to her. 'Are you okay?' I asked, her eyes turned to me, filled with tears.
