"Welcome to the Dinner Club how many are their?" The girl asked
"I actually came to see one of your waitresses." Ayanna said getting to the point
"Uh okay do you know the their name?" The host asked
Ayanna thought for a minute and realize she didn't get the girl name she looked around the restaurant looking for her, after a couple of minutes she spotted her making her way towards the back.
"She right there." Ayanna pointed
The host nodded her head before walking in the back to go get the young girl within a few minutes they both came back making the young girl looked like she saw a deer in headlights.
"Uh hi." She said shyly
Ayanna didn't hold any type of facial expression she wanted answers and she felt like coming to the girl would help her out.
"I would like to talk to you if you don't mind." Ayanna said
"Oh okay I'm on break right now so we can talk now." The young girl said
Ayanna nodded her head before walking out of the restaurant with the girl following behind her they both took a seat at one of the tables that was outside of the restaurant the two battle looks before Ayanna started talking.
"What's your name?"
"My name is Ebony." The young girl said trying not to look at Ayanna in the eyes
"You say your my sister? Or you think I'm your sister how I know you could be lying?" Ayanna asked
"You look just like the little girl that's in the picture that sits in our living room, I have the picture if you want to see it?"
Ayanna nodded her head making Ebony pull out her phone and showing Ayanna the picture, she was smiling big as she held her teddy bear that she had won from the fair, right next to her was Dana Ayanna mother and on the other side stood Charles Ayanna father.
"My dad- well our dad he told me about you to me and my mother, he said that I had a sister out here in New York when I seen you I knew it had to be you in that picture." Ebony said with a smile
"He isn't my dad, he doesn't get that title from me since he left me and never look back so he just your father not mine." Ayanna said making that very clear
"He never said that he left you he told me that your mom didn't want him around anymore." Ebony said growing to defense for her father.
Ayanna laughed to herself she wasn't surprised that the man she never got a chance to spend her childhood with, would have said that to his other family to not make it seem like he was the bad guy.
"Do you even know why he really left? He was married to your mother at the time and was messing with my mother on the side, when my mom got pregnant he was there for most of my childhood but left soon as you was born." Ayanna said
"Whatever he told you was a lie, my mom didn't push him away he left on his own." Ayanna said trying to hold back the tears
Ebony looked into Yanna eyes seeing that she was telling the truth she wished her dad did the same, she didn't have any words that could make the situation better for Ayanna.
