First one shot, enjoy :)
Rose's mood had been all over the place the previous week, usually they were bursts of sadness or anger and frustration. On multiple occasions she had to excuse herself to any room the Doctor wasn't in so she didn't say anything she would later regret. Her leaving to other rooms were often quite abrupt, leaving the Doctor confused and sometimes hurt if he was in the middle of something. She hated having to do it, but she couldn't risk acting on impulse and then further hurting him because of her mood swings.
The next week, her suspicions about her sudden mood swings were proved correct and she groaned both inwardly and outwardly when she found it confirmed. The Doctor, who had followed her into her room and was now waiting outside her en suite, heard her groaning and asked what was wrong. Rose didn't know if Time Ladies or any Gallifreyans had periods so she thought it wasn't worth the hassle of explaining it to him.
"Nothing, just, can we make a quick stop back on Earth? I need to get something from the shops."
"Rose you know the TARDIS can provide you with almost anything." He replied.
She sank into the toilet seat a little, this was going to be hard to get around. "Yeah I know but I'd prefer to get it from Earth, if that's ok?"
"Yeah, yeah that's fine, I'll set the coordinates now." His voice trailed off as he left her room.
Rose exhaled deeply through her nose then left her bathroom to meet the Doctor in the console room. When she walked in the TARDIS jolted telling her they had landed.
"Allons-y then?" The Doctor grinned, holding his hand out for her.
Heat crept into her cheeks, "Actually I'd like to go by myself, I'll be quick. Promise."
Her heart dropped as his face fell and she had to quickly get out of there to avoid any further comments.
The streets of London were uncommonly bustling with people. People going to work, people going home from worker, shoppers, the usual. Her hands were wedged into her pockets, trying to keep warm against the breeze that had picked up, and she walked quickly amongst the thriving throngs.
However inside the shop was quiet, Rose exhaled at the sudden, yet comforting calmness. After spying the chocolate section, she knew she'd need some at some point so grabbed a couple of bars of that as well.

By the time she'd got back to the TARDIS her cramps had rapidly increased, so much so that she didn't speak to the Doctor when she walked in and went straight to her room and slammed the door shut.
"Rose?!" He shouted after her.
On her bed, the TARDIS had materialised a hot water bottle and Rose took it gratefully and thanked the ship. The ship had also given her some soft pyjamas for her to slip into which Rose did so immediately. She curled into the hot water bottle and a few tears escaped her eyes.
"Rose?" The Doctor called from outside.
She didn't answer. Instead she clutched at the water bottle, hoping if she squeezed it hard enough the cramps would go away. They didn't.
"Rose I'm coming in." He stepped into her room and walked to approach her bed.
"Go away." She said more harshly than she intended, "Please." She added, softer.
"What's wrong Rose?"
"Nothing." Rose tried to sound nonchalant, but soon winced in pain as it felt like someone had stabbed her abdomen again.
"Well, Rose Tyler, I've known you for a long time and I can quite clearly tell that you're most certainly not ok."
She winced again, another stab to the stomach. "I'm fine, really."
"No, Rose, you're really not."
The Doctor sat on the bed next to her, her back facing him, and tentatively placed a hand on her shoulder to which she shivered at the contact. Slowly, he pulled her shoulder to turn her onto her other side.
"Please Rose, what's... wrong?" His voice faltered with confusion as he glanced down towards the hot water bottle.
Rose sighed, no escaping this one. She tried to sit up and meet his eyes but found she really couldn't move at all in her situation.
His eyes darted to and from her body to her eyes when he realised she couldn't move.
"Rose, tell me." The Doctor said a little warningly which made Rose smile slightly to herself.
"Doctor I'm fine, and I'm not dying or anythin' like that."
"Then what's wrong?"
Preparing herself for what was most likely going to turn into an awkward situation, she managed to lean on her elbow and look up at him.
"So, when people with uteruses get to a certain age they get these things called periods-"
She hadn't even finished before the Doctor pulled her into his arms and held her tight.
"Oh Rose, why didn't you just say?" He pressed his face into her hair and wrapped his arms around her waist.
"You know?" She asked, her voice muffled due to her pressing her own face into his shoulder.
"Rose you know I'm a genius?" She could feel him smirk but then suddenly pulled away, leading her to pout about it.
"I'm sorry, I shouldn't of done that."
Now it was Rose's turn to be confused, "Why are you sorry?" Her face broke out into a smile and she pulled him down to lie next to her.
Cautiously, he wrapped his arms around her again. Her smile got wider and she snuggled closer into his chest. After a few moments, her cramps got bad again and the Doctor noticed.
"Anything I can do?"
"Pass me the chocolate."
He did so instantly and she ate it without hesitating. And that's how they stayed for the next few hours; Rose snuggled into the Doctor's chest and both of them eating the chocolate.
"You know I think I like being cuddled up to you like this." Rose whispered.
"You know what, I do too." The Doctor whispered back, kissing her forehead.
