Post!doomsday, but Rose never got taken to the parallel universe.
All over ached. She wanted it to stop.
Her memory was hazy, but she supposed it was due to almost being sucked into the void. She remembered that however, her fingers slipping and falling closer and closer to the void. It had felt like she was being ripped apart from every part of her body and it hurt.
Then there was the impact, she was falling then smack, straight into the wall, sending her into a crumpled heap. Rose didn't know how long she led there before the sound of the Doctor's voice penetrated her fogged up mind.
"Rose!" She could hear him fret, "Rose answer me!"
She found herself with a lack of vocabulary, "Doctor?" Was the only thing she could muster.
"Rose, thank Rassilon you're alright." He breathed out.
Rose mentally rolled her eyes, she didn't feel alright, she felt like shi-
"C'mon let's get out of here, I suspect someone will be up here soon and I'd rather not have to talk to them right now, right Rose?"
She found strength to nod and managed to pull herself up.
This small victory was only short lived as she took about two steps before her legs gave way from underneath her. Luckily for her, the Doctor had impeccable reflexes and was able to catch her, managing to break her fall.
The Doctor saw she wouldn't be able to walk anywhere without his assistance, so he wrapped an arm around her, the other grabbing her arm and he began to lift her up.
Despite her acts of protest, trying to swat his hands away and telling him she was fine, he still kept his grip on her, maybe even more tighter than before. Together, they made their way back to the TARDIS. The Doctor took a few glances at Rose and saw how drained she looked, he couldn't imagine how she was feeling.
When they got inside, he helped her in sitting down on the jump seat. Rose felt heat creeping to her cheeks in embarrassment, she hated feeling useless and having the Doctor care for her like a child.
"I don't mind taking care of you Rose." He said softly, as if he were reading her thoughts. She didn't put past him.
She huffed bitterly, "I feel bloody ridiculous."
The Doctor pouted slightly and came to stand in front of her, "Don't feel ridiculous, today's been a lot, especially for you."
Rose shook her head dismissively - she didn't say anything.
Still looking down at her, the Doctor frowned and just wished she would let him take care of her. That's all he wanted to do and that's all he will do - for the rest of their time.
They were still silent while the Doctor moved around the console, the only sound was the brush of his clothes and the gentle hum from the TARDIS. Nothing else was said until Rose felt the jolt of the TARDIS, telling her they had landed somewhere.
"Where are we?" Rose sat up, looking confused.
The Doctor put his hands in his pockets and took a deep breath, "We're at your mother's flat, I thought that maybe you'd want to gather some things,"
"Why would I do that?"
The Doctor's eyebrows shot up, "Oh, you don't have to do it if you don't want to, I just thought- well, you spend a lot of time on the TARDIS and well, you said yourself you were spending forever so-"
