Merry Christmas!!
"C'mon! It'll be fun!" Rose pleaded with the Doctor.
He gave her a look, which clearly said he wasn't amused or persuaded by her pleading. "I don't get what's so fun about skating on ice. With loads of other people there with you."
"I just said! It'll be fun." Rose tried to suppress a smile by biting her lip, but it didn't work. All it did was draw the Doctor's attention to her lips. Soft lips that he would love more than anything to- No. Now was not the time.
The Doctor heaved another sigh, and gave her a long look, hoping it would convince her to stop convincing him. Honestly what was so appealing about iceskating anyways? It was just a one way trip to getting bruises in places you didn't think you could get bruises. The Doctor hadn't ice skated in a few regenerations and he found he didn't want to break that streak.
Rose held his gaze, but eventually gave up and rolled her eyes. "Fine. If you don't want to go I'll just call Shireen and Keisha." She gave him a small smile, but he saw how it didn't reach her eyes.
Something in his heart twinged, and he couldn't say he liked it. She really wanted to go iceskating? With him? Well, only a fool would deny Rose Tyler anything she wished.
"No need." He said coolly.
"What?"
"You don't need to call your friends," Rose continued to give him a confused look, "Text your mum to say we're leaving for a bit."
"But we said we'd stay for-"
"And we will, just a quick trip, promise."
"Don't go skipping another year." Rose grinned.
"That was one time!" The Doctor protested and he walked over to her and grabbed her hand.
"One time too many." Rose stuck her tongue out cheekily at him, intertwining their fingers as she let the Doctor lead them out of the flat.
The Doctor quickly ushered her into the TARDIS and began setting the coordinates.
"So, where are you taking us? Please tell me this isn't one of your things where you take me somewhere to make up for not doing what I want to do for once." Rose looked at him skeptically.
"Just wait and see, Rose Tyler, I suggest you change into something more warm, it'll be nippy out there."
Rose stared at him skeptically for a moment before rolling her eyes and walking off to the wardrobe room.
Once she had left, the Doctor set the co-ordinates for the Natural History Museum. He frowned, then, Rose's words were replaying in his mind. He did take them places he thought they would both enjoy, but maybe it wasn't always the right thing. Rose had made suggestions before, ones he didn't personally like, and instead of taking her anyways he essentially bribed her into going with him where he wanted to go. Upon reflection, he was beginning to realise he had manipulated Rose on multiple occasions, whether he was aware of it or not. He needed to stop making her decisions for her...
Yet she stayed with him. Rose was a smart person, surely she would notice when this would happen - well, she'd pointed it out mere moments ago - but she still stayed with him. The Doctor wondered how he'd ever become so lucky to meet Rose Tyler.
Rose returned to the console room a short while later; she had swapped her joggers and hoodie for a light brown skirt with a pink jumper. She had pulled her hair into a ponytail with a few stray pieces framing her face and earmuffs around her neck - the Doctor thought she looked gorgeous.
