You dashed out of the front door of the school just in time to find Darkblade approaching Adrien's chauffer, who had been patiently waiting on the both of you beside the sleek black sports car. With your heightened sense of sight, for the first time, you noticed the dark tinted windows were made of bulletproof glass.

"Zounds!" Darkblade called out as his eyes landed on Gorilla. "What a great beast to join our conquest!" You paused mid-run and found yourself staring at him with your mouth hanging open. You could barely understand half the words Darkblade was using.

Since you hadn't gotten there fast enough Gorilla had been turned into a knight and the citizens began to slowly encroach upon you, chanting, "Part le fer!"

As Darkblade kept creating more mindless knights you ran around trying to get the citizens to safety. You ushered them inside buildings and carried some away, but it wasn't enough. You knew you knew you couldn't defeat Darkblade on your own. Batwing needed a partner, without Chat Noir or Ladybug there was nothing you could do.

You felt like a sidekick. You talked big when you were (Y/N), but as Batwing you had very little support. The realization paralyzed you, and fear began to flood all of your senses.

"Let us to battle, knights!" Darkblade called out to his army. He held his sword up triumphantly as his eyes landed on you. He smirked at your trembling hands and made his way over to you. "Part le fer!" he mocked. He lifted his sword and brought it down over you.

But Chat Noir jumped between you and Darkblade, blocking the sword with his staff. "The people had their say and they chose Bourgeois over you, D'Argencourt!" Chat Noir yelled at him. You found yourself wrapping your arms around Chat Noir's waist.

Darkblade pulled his sword back and sneered at the two of you. Chat Noir slipped out of your arms, confused as to why you weren't fighting. To be honest, you didn't know why either. It was an unexplainable surge of fear, and why? Because Darkblade spoke with such outdated French that you got scared.

"Thy peoples matter not to me. D'Argencourt was defeated," he flexed his muscles as he examined his sword, "not Darkblade! En garde!"

They began to fence, Chat Noir clearly giving the fencing instructor a run for his money. Chat Noir's offense was so flawless, he actually managed to push Darkblade backwards so far until they were out of sight. Jumping a top buildings and jumping over cars.

Chat Noir was so truly amazing, he seemed so skilled in every area of fighting. But the problem with it now was that it were as though you were out of the fight completely, and there was no way you would let Ladybug show up and make you look even worse. In that moment, spite drove you more than bravery and fear.

You growled to yourself and leapt forward, throwing your nunchucks out and grappling to the railing of the nearest building.

Your hyper-hearing allowed you to pick up on the gradually decreasing sound of clanking metal and angry yelling. Following the noises close you soon found them on Lock Bridge, where Adrien had once taken you for ice cream.

Chat Noir and Darkblade were more spaced out than expected from a typical fencing match, but both of their swords were so long that they were still in danger of being hit. Just when you thought Chat Noir had subdued him, Darkblade preformed a feint-and-strike you had seen him do once before in class. Chat Noir's staff flew out of his hand and into the river under the bridge.

You swung forward, opening your arms outward so that you could glide downward. You landed in front of Chat Noir, blocking him from Darkblade, with your nun-chucks in one hand and the other in a fist.

"Take them!" Darkblade ordered his knights. They began to enclose around you and Chat Noir.

"Go!" you growled just as you kicked a knight in the head and knocked over a group of them. You swung your nun-chucks at another at pulled their legs out from underneath them.

Chat Noir shook his head. "I'm not leaving you!" He took ahold of your hand firmly and his jaw set.

With a slight nod you followed him off the side of the bridge. You had fallen straight into the water, as he managed to latch onto a pole under the bridge. He grabbed your forearm and yanked you out of the water, throwing your arms around his neck so that you could hang onto him. You had just wrapped your legs around his waist when a small group of knights swam right underneath you, obviously searching for the both of you.

"We need to find Ladybug," you whispered when you felt the knights were far enough away.

He shook his head again, moving his right hand from your back to another bar to steady himself. "We don't need her. You and (Y/N) taught me that."

Your eyes widened and you slipped off back into the water. The knights were already long gone, so Chat Noir just laughed and jumped down into the water with you. The sound of a pure laugh from him made your heart flutter, and all of your fear melted away. In that moment all you wanted was to help him, and prove that he didn't need anyone.

Chat Noir was such a precious soul- you just wish he knew that.

"Let's do it, Kitty."
