Andre Bourgeois had recently recommend that you joined an after school activity. He claimed that you needed a way to make friends and that you spent too much time hanging around the hotel. But what you had really gathered from that was Chloe complained that you had too much free time to hangout with Adrien so you needed something else to do.
However, as it just so happened, when Adrien heard the news he enthusiastically suggested you joined his fencing club. The idea seemed great, but of course there was one big problem.
"I can't fence, at all, Adrien," you had told him over and over, but he wouldn't listen. On Wednesday, after school let out at 12 o'clock, he took you to his fencing coach and explained to him that you were new and preferred to be in the same class as him, even though you were only a beginner.
"That can be arranged," Coach D'Argencourt told Adrien. "Miss. (L/N), you'll be pairing up with Mr. Agreste. He'll show you the ropes."
Adrien smiled to you as he led you towards the lockerroom. "But, you won't get good practice trying to help me."
He grabbed your hand and rolled his eyes playfully. "Don't worry. If you improve quickly then we'll both start getting better!" He pulled on you lighty, then made you spin around. You stumbled a bit and fell back onto him. You apologized, but he held you there for a second before letting you go.
"If you say so."
"I'll see you in a few minutes, okay?" You split up into the locker rooms and you went to get dressed.
You were the only girl in the club so you were completely alone as you shoved all your things into a locker and changed into a tank top and the fencing gear.
Vladd flew out of your bag and zoomed around the area a few times before floating in front of you. "Is there a reason you woke me up from my nap?" he drawled. His little orange eyes were droopy and his shoulders hunched forward in exhaustion.
"I'm sorry, Vladd. I tried to set you down as softly as I could." You tucked your finger underneath his chin and stroked it gently. You pulled out your phone and checked the time. "The ceremony starts in about 45 minutes, so I won't need you till then, and you can rest. Sound good?"
Vladd nodded once before quickly falling back to sleep. You giggled to yourself and quickly changed into your clothes.
When you walked out of the locker room Adrien was already waiting for you. "Are you ready?"
You nodded. "Just a few lessons and I'll have you begging for mercy!" you laughed, pointing a finger at him. He grabbed it and scrunched up his nose, but you playfully pushed him away.

"Wow! You're really good, Adrien!" You congratulated him as he had scored once again.
"You are, too." He gave you a fist bump. "You're a natural at this. You've already got most of the technique down." His eyes softened as he looked over you. He adjusted the grip on his sword and readied it once more.
You had been putting in a lot of effort. You focused on the class and did your best to memorize everything Adrien had been telling you. As the only girl, and the newest student, and the foreigner, you felt as though you had something to prove. It wasn't long into the class before people started to take notice of your effort.
"En garde!"
You and Adrien fought again. Your offense was phenomenal for a beginner, but your defense was shotty, whereas his was unpenatrable. That was the difference between being a challenge and actually winning. You couldn't win with offense alone.
