You waited anxiously in your bedroom for Chat Noir's bright green eyes to appear at your window. Your heart was racing in anticipation. You fiddled with your fingers. Then... there he was. You sucked in a deep breath and smiled. You hurried over to your window and pulled it open as quickly and quietly as possible.
He slinked in soundlessly, scooping you up into a kiss before saying anything else. He ran one of his hands up to your hair and the other rested on the middle of your back. You wrapped your hands around his shoulders and kissed back forcefully.
He pulled away slowly, your eyes still closed as he tucked a piece of hair behind your ear. You opened them to meet his shining green eyes. "Are you ready to go, ma beauté?"
You sighed contentedly. "We're going somewhere?"
He grinned, taking your hand. "Yes, somewhere no one will bother us." He led you towards the window. He lifted you up effortlessly with one hand. You wrapped your legs around his waist and he took off out the window.
The city skyline sparkled in the distance as the moon casted a silver glow over the rooftops. The stars were outshined by the glorious moon. The soft hum of the city below created a comforting backdrop to the serene setting above. Lights in homes were beginning to go out, and soft, yellow porch lights were flickering on. You never had a chance to really appreciate the city, but being out with Chat Noir made it so easy to appreciate the beauty of the city.
You didn't travel very far before Chat Noir stopped, perched at the top of the Louvre. "I'm sure you've been here, but this is the heart of Paris." He set you down, pressing a quick kiss to your hairline as he pulled you close by the waist.
"This is beautiful," you sighed contently. Resting your forehead against his. He smiled back down at you.
Tall, elegant buildings encircled the garden, their windows reflecting the stars.
Chat Noir finally looked relaxed, almost unrecognizable as the hero who saved the city countless times. He usually looked laid-back, but now he was clearly at ease, the weight of the city lifted off his shoulders for just a couple hours.
Chat Noir watched as your eyes sparkled with excitement as you took in the view. He let out a tight breath, his heart swelling at the sight of you.
"You always know how to pick the perfect spot," you hummed happily, wrapping your arms around his waist.
Chat Noir smiled, a soft chuckle escaping his lips. "I thought you might like it. The city looks different from up here, doesn't it?"
You nodded, stepping closer to the edge of the garden to peer down at the twinkling lights below. "It's beautiful. It almost feels like we're on top of the world."
"Tonight, it's just us—no emergencies, no villains, no Ladybug, just you and me." He pulled out his baton once again and took you to the ground so that the luscious green grass. He led you down a garden path full of colorful flowers and trees. You trailed your hand across the long grass as you walked.
Your breath caught at the amber fairy lights lining you path until you came to a small clearing near a fountain.
Before you was an exquisite picnic set up with a satin white cloth laid out on the ground. Wooden charcuterie boards were lined with all types of berries and cheeses. A small basket set off to the side with baguettes stuffed neatly. Small orange candles were positioned sporadically, but most of the light came from the fairy lights hanging overhead.
Colorful flower petals were scattered over the satin sheet, accentuating the scenery around you. You turned to face Chat Noir, wrapping your hands around his neck and pulling him into you to give him a deep kiss.
"This is amazing," you whispered. He smiled, taking your hand in his and sitting you down. "So, how did you manage to get us up here without anyone noticing?"
The wind picked up, blowing your hair gently across your face. It was getting cooler out as you began getting closer to winter.
Chat Noir gave you a Cheshire grin, a playful glint in his eyes. "Let's just say it involved a bit of stealth, and some favors from a few friends." He picked up a strawberry and held it out to you.
"You really do go all out, don't you?" you said, taking a bite of the juicy strawberry he offered you.
"For you, always," he replied, his tone serious. "I know this life isn't easy," he said quietly, finishing off the rest of the strawberry, "and I know it's dangerous, but I want you to know that no matter what, you're the most important thing to me. More than the city, more than the hero stuff... it's you." He looked up at the sky, the moon reflecting brilliantly off his bright green eyes.
Your heart swelled, your eyebrows drawn together at his moving words. He looked sideways at you with a cheeky smirk. "I know it's tricky," you said, meaning it more than he could understand. "But I'm glad you're willing to navigate this with me."
He through his arm over your shoulder, pulling you into his side the way Adrien does. You leaned your head on his shoulder, nibbling on a piece of cheese while you watched the stars dance and twinkle.
"Tell me about your home country," Chat Noir said sweetly.
You lifted your brows in surprise, very few people asked about where you from. But you happily obliged, telling him about your parents and your old school. You talked about your friends and your pets.
He listened intently, chuckling as you told him a funny story about you and a friend from school. "When do you go home?" he asked, his voice melancholy. "I mean... I know at the end of this school year, but what day?"
You shrugged your shoulders, nestling further into him. "I'm not really sure. I've been wondering if I need to stay longer."
More than just your new friends and Chat Noir, you knew Batwing would need to stay until Hawk Moth was defeated lest the team is a person short or someone else takes your role. You knew you couldn't live with yourself if there was a new Batwing running around Paris, or if there was a new girl Chat Noir was taking on romantic dates around the city.
The two of you sat in silence, the weight of your situations hanging heavily on you, neither of you able to be completely honest with the other.
After a while he turned his head to look at you. You both stared into each other's eyes for a moment, his breath warm against you skin. Slowly, he leaned in.
You tilted your head slightly, your lips parting just enough to invite him closer. Your mouths met in a soft, unhurried kiss, the world fading away.
It was gentle at first, then, as if drawn by an unseen force, the kiss deepened. His hand found the small of you back, pulling you onto his lap. You let out a soft sigh against his lips. Time seemed to stretch, the only thing that mattered was the way his body pressed against yours.
Without breaking the kiss, he laid you down on your back, your hands moving to the sides of your head, pinned down by his hands. He lovingly intertwined your fingers, deepening the kiss as he did so. He parted from the kiss just a bit, just enough to get a good look at your face and the way the moon danced in your eyes.
"You're so enchanting, (Y/N). I don't know how you do this to me."
Chat Noir kissed you again, biting on your lower lip. You hummed approvingly against his lips, and he brushed his tongue against your bottom lip. It felt so right. You pressed another kiss against his lips before parting your lips enough to let his tongue slide in.
For that night, at least, the world was at peace, and you could just be with Chat Noir—two people in love, finding solace in the quiet moments that only you share. Baring a burden only the other could know about, but still unable to fully share your experience.
