Your Protection

As Ladybug and Chat Noir continued whispering privately, Nino crept up on them with his phone still recording. "Don't mind me, finding the missing peeps and solving this crazy mystery with Cat Noir and Ladybug... This movie's gonna be so swank!" He bounced a bit from excitement.

Ladybug rolled her eyes playfully. "Stay together, right behind us!" She grabbed Nino and gave him a stern look. "Means you too, Spielberg!"

Chat Noir put his hand on your back and made you get in front of him. "I'm keeping my eye on you the whole time, sweetheart." Your mind was too focused on transforming to register his sweet talk.

The class made it's way back to the classroom they were originally filming in and Ladybug pointed to an orange shoe in the middle of the presentation space. "There!" she gasped. You ran forward and snatched it up.

"Do you recognize this shoe?" Chat Noir asked you. You bit the inside of your cheeks, biting of a bit of skin in you fear and frustration.

You nodded solemnly. "Yeah, this is Adrien's shoe," you whispered. You held it up to the rest of the class. "I knew I should've gone to get him!" you growled. Chat Noir chuckled and ruffled your hair.

"No worries, Ladybug and I are here to get him back for you!"

Ladybug tapped her chin in thought. "That's weird! There's no pink slime here." She noticed.

"Yes, there is!" It was Nathaniel. He was kneeling by the teacher's desk, poking at a glob of bright pink slime. Suddenly, a large pink and purple monster with three bright yellow eyes jumped out, grabbing Nathaniel with it's tail.

You screamed and jumped behind Chat Noir, who held his arm out in front of you. The monster growled and snarled at the class, drooling through it's missing teeth.

"Everybody run!" Ladybug ordered.

You turned to run, but that's when you noticed Chat Noir was holding your hand from in front of you. "You'll be safe with me," he assured you. If you were any other person this would've been sweet, but it was frustrating being unable to transform.

"Help! Help! Help!" Nathaniel screamed. The monster snarled at the class, who screamed and ran for cover.

"Awesome." You looked to see Juleka staring in awe at the monster, who growled angrily at her. You wanted to scream at Juleka to run and hide, but she wasn't scared. "So awesome..." Juleka smiled, and the Horrificator became noticeably smaller. The monster seemed to have realized, for it howled at spat slimy goo at Juleka, but Ladybug swung in just in time to save her.

"Eww! What's your name? Drool-lator?" Chat Noir teased, distracting the monster from Ladybug. You jumped backwards as the monster spit goo at him, but he deflected it by spinning his staff. When he felt you step away from him he quickly turned around and pulled you closer. "I'm not going to let anything happen to you, (Y/N)," he told you, then he growled lowly, "trust me."

"We better hurry and find out where that akuma's hiding!" Ladybug shouted. You rolled your eyes- obviously they had to find the Akuma.

Chat Noir wrapped his arm around your waist and pulled you close to him. "I don't see anything. Just miles of slime," he complained. You scanned over the monster and couldn't see anything either. "I wish Batwing were here!" You looked up at Chat Noir with wide eyes and blushed. You heart began to beat rapidly as you realized the position you were in with him. To know he had you pressed against him, and for him to still call out for your other identity was encouraging and sweet.

"She probably couldn't get get into the school in time- not suprised." You pursed your lips at Ladybug, and it seemed she wasn't too fond if you either.

The large, pink monster continued to growl and drool. It spit at the class, and everyone ushered back out into the hallway. Chat Noir took ahold of your hand and made sure you were close. You needed to transform, but there didn't seem to be a way for you to get away from the group.

"Heeelp! Help!" Nathaniel cried out again from within the monster's grasp. It looked around, seeing a group of terrified kids cowering in fear. It roared, growing larger and stronger.

Ladybug snapped he fingers. "Fear! It's fear that gives it its strength!" She smiled to herself and you nudged at Chat Noir.

"I need to go hide," you begged. "It's dangerous here." You tugged your hand away from him but he fought against you.

"Splitting up is the worst idea possible," he sounded a bit impatient. "Nothing will happen to you as long as your with me." He tugged at your hand and brought you forward, pressing a kiss to your cheek. You blushed and pulled away. Your ears were burning, and your heart pounded in your chest.

You nodded once, biting your lip. "Okay, Kitty. But, if things get too dangerous you have to promise to let me hide."

He smirked cheekily at you, running his hand down the side of your face and pushing away a few strands of hair. "Whatever is best to keep you safe." He winked at you before going back to the fight.

"Oh no!" Rose screamed. "It's taking Nath and Alix!" And in fact it had both of your classmates clutched tightly in its grasp. It snarled a few more times before taking off with both of them.

"The more scared people are of it, the more powerful it gets!" Ladybug shouted to everyone. "By defeating fear, we defeat it!"

You moved forward to Ladybug, "You couldn't possibly expect a bunch of kids to just stop being scared of a monster." You looked around the room at your trembling classmates. The only one who hadn't gone pale was Juleka- but she was always pale.

Ladybug gave you a quick glance, raising one of her eyebrows in confusion. "I'm sorry. I don't understand you." She did, and you knew it. You were completely caught off guard. You swallowed hard and took a step back.

"I understood her perfectly, and she's right!" Chat Noir snapped back. "First Chloe, now (Y/N)? What is it with you lately, Ladybug?" Chat Noir sounded hurt more than angry. He considered Ladybug a friend, so to see her treat two of the most important people in his life with such disregard was painful and confusing.

Ladybug crossed her arms over her chest and looked away. "Whatever. Did you see how it just left Ivan alone? It even licked him."

Chat Noir nodded indignantly, narrowing his eyebrows. "Yeah, what's that all about?"

You gasped, covering your mouth with your hand. "Is the monster Mylène?!" Sweat began to form around your hairline and you gulped.

"Where are Sabrina and Chloé?" Alya said suddenly, looking up from her phone for the first time.

You wrapped your arms around Chat Noir's waist from behind, slightly catching him off guard. You buried your face in his back and groaned. "I have no idea, but we need to find them before Mylène does."
