Sometimes, I wake in the middle of the night with vivid memories that pierce my brain. It's not always a great memory, and in all honesty, it's not always even a memory. Sometimes it is me imagining what life was like in a totally misconstrued and idealized way. Maybe it's just the way I cope, but I hate it. The memories won't stop unless I am distracted. My distraction doesn't come from happiness though. Doesn't come from music, or dancing, or painting, or therapy and yoga, or a really good blueberry muffin, it comes from something worse, but almost better than all of those combined. It comes from Kai. When I look at him I physically can feel the recollections of the past fade away. He makes me feel like I am bouncing on a cloud made out of cotton candy. The thing is, Kai is a storm cloud. Rain, thunder, lightening, all of it, and cotton candy doesn't do too well when soaked in rain.
