The dead can remain in whoever or whatever they leave on earth. Even though they no longer wander the land, their footsteps leave energy, their energy. Whether they left a child behind, a chair, a tea pot, china set, they all harness what that person used to be.
Contrary to popular opinion, no one is ever truly gone, or at least that's what Venus Rosario likes to believe. She liked to believe her mother left any essence of her in Venus. In others eyes, she was a carbon copy of her. Same everything (eyes, nose, lips, poise).
The life of the dead is set in the memory of the living. They continue to life after they die, through us. Whether it be bad, good, exciting or mundane. That was the problem for Venus, she had no memory of her mother. The last one was her being cut from her bleeding womb, wailing into the world while her mother seeped out of it. Every time she looked in the mirror, she saw what her mother could have looked like.
Of course, she could never be certain.
As she approached her fifth year at Hogwarts, she was going to find out just how much she'd inherited from her late mother.
As they say, the dead live through us . . .

Author's Note, ♱ Hey guys! I was in my Harry Potter phase of quarantine writing this fanfic, so, if any part of this story is written quite terribly it's because I was sixteen, bored and in the middle of an identity crisis. But, I used the beautiful Ryan Destiny as my fc because I always saw the girl that played Renaissance in Twilight, but I figured we could use a fresh face in the fandom world and Ryan was the perfect choice for Venus. ♱ also, I KNOW ATJ is heavily wanted as the face claim for James Potter, but since Harry had such a strong resemblance to his father, I just decided to have him as the face claim for this story. Besides I like the way he and Ryan look beside each other a bit more than other face claims. But you all can imagine whoever you'd like, I won't murder you at 4:46 am if you don't (or maybe I will).
