Akaashi smiled at Emiko, who was being held by one of Bokuto's fathers. She seemed happy enough and was even giggling. So everything was okay.
Bokuto was sitting next to him, holding his hand under the table.
Any minute now.
Akaashi yawned and smiled at Emiko, who was making soft cooing noises. Bokuto laughed. "She's so cute."
Akaashi nodded. "Definitely." He glanced up to see a woman approaching his table. "Ah. Hi Mom."
"Keiji."
Bokuto looked up. "Hello!"
"Mm."
Akaashi tried his best to brush off the anger from that. "May I have Emiko back?" One of Bokuto's dads gave her to Akaashi. Akaashi hummed and put her on his chest. "Hey there princess…"
Bokuto smiled and leaned over. He clicked his tongue. "Hi Emmy."
Akaashi chuckled. "Did you enjoy being held by others?" Akaashi whispered gently.
Akaashi's mother narrowed her eyes a bit. "Why do you feel the need to talk to her?"
"Oh. Well she loves noise. It helps her stay calm." Akaashi kissed her head. Bokuto laughed nervously before kissing her head too.
"May I hold her?" Akaashi's father questioned.
Akaashi nodded and eased her into his arms.
"Oh wow… she's so little. How sweet." He eased her up and smiled. "You're adorable."
Akaashi chuckled. "She looks just like her dad."
"She has your eyes!" Bokuto protested.
Akaashi's mother looked over. "They look very pale. No where near green."
"Oh no they're a little green." Bokuto smiled.
"Why are her eyes that light?"
Akaashi cleared his throat. "Mom..."
"Mm?"
"Emiko is blind. That's why her eyes are so pale…"
His mother narrowed her eyes. "What caused it?"
"We're not completely sure but she's perfectly healthy."
"Did you smoke while pregnant?"
"No. I don't smoke anymore. It's risky."
"Alcohol?"
"I don't like the taste."
"Food you weren't supposed to?"
Akaashi shifted. "Well I snuck minor things. But none of that affected her, I'm sure. I didn't do anything major and I was only hit once in my stomach..."
"You must have done something to make her this way."
Both of Bokuto's parents stared. Finally, the alpha of the two spoke. "I'm sorry but he's done nothing wrong. At all. Why are you acting like that to him?"
"A-ah no it's okay. I get it." Akaashi said quickly. "Please don't worry."
Bokuto frowned. "You did nothing wrong."
Akaashi's father looked at his wife. "She's your granddaughter. It shouldn't matter."
"My apparent son caused it though."
Akaashi started spacing out a bit, seemingly ignoring the argument around him.
Bokuto turned, seeing it. "Keiji."
