Somehow, Akaashi had spent three months alone. Emiko was a year old now. Much more active. She was saying more words and walking along the couches, holding onto them for support.
Bokuto wasn't there to see her walk around and talk. He was somewhere on his own.
Akaashi yawned, lifting Emiko up. "Come on princess. Time for bed…"
"Mommy!"
"Mhmm." Akaashi put her in her crib and covered her in a thin but soft blanket. He rubbed her back until she was fast asleep. He shuffled to his room and changed in silence.
He missed the little laughs as Bokuto would sit on the bed and reach for him with his legs.
He missed the soft kisses on his shoulders as Bokuto started to drift off.
Akaashi picked up one of the older male's shirts.
He missed him.
Akaashi put it on and sniffed. It still smelled like Bokuto. Akaashi climbed into bed and stayed on his side of the bed. He didn't want the other side. That wasn't his right to be on.

Suga looked up, frowning. "Akaashi? Hey, get your head off the table."
When Akaashi didn't put his head up he sighed.
He leaned over and tapped his temple. "You good?"
Akaashi startled and sat up. He rubbed his eyes. "Sorry, sorry."
"It's okay. You seem exhausted."
Akaashi shrugged. He leaned back and yawned. "Sorry. Emiko is a handful and gets fussy when I put her down. She's been begging for Koutarou, which doesn't make that any better."
"Wait. He's not back yet?"
"No…"
"Gah. I'm gonna punch him in the face!"
Akaashi chuckled softly. "Yeah…" He stood and grabbed his bag. "Well now I've got to go pick Emiko up from daycare…"
"Akaashi?"
"Hm?"
"You need a break."
Akaashi shifted. "I'm okay. Just a little stressed that Koutarou hasn't come back."
"Well any time away from a mate is stressful. But you're not taking care of yourself. You haven't even showered this week."
"Dry shampoo spray and a washcloth." Akaashi went towards the door.
"Akaashi."
"What?"
"When you pick Emiko up, come to my house. Trust me on this one."

Daichi looked up and smiled at Sugawara, who had walked into the house. He got up and hugged him. "Hey there. You okay?"
"Mhmm! Akaashi's gonna be here soon and I'm gonna need to pamper him a bit."
"Ah Bokuto isn't home still?"
"No he's being an ass."
"Ah, ah cursing. The twins are awake." Daichi warned. He pointed the a play pen next to the couch.
The little ones were messing with a blanket, Mei trying to put it on both of them and cuddle but Minori would scream at her. SLAP. Suga rushed over and separated them. "Minori."
"Mommy!" He reached up for Suga.
"No. Say sorry to Mei." Sugawara picked Mei up and held her as she cried.
"No!"
"Daichi! Babe!"
Daichi came over and picked the little boy up. He put him on the bench between the kitchen and living room. Yuichi walked in and headed over to Sugawara.
"Ah hey." Suga sat on the couch, sighing.
Yuichi looked at Mei and then frowned. "Why's she crying?"
"Minori hit her when she tried to cuddle him."
"I'll cuddle her!"
Suga stared. "You sure?"
"Mhmm!"
"Alright. Sit down." Yuichi got on the couch. "Here we go."
Yuichi was soon holding his younger sister, and then they both fell asleep. Suga hummed and went off to his bathroom. He made sure that the bathtub was empty before getting some of his own clothes and putting them by the bathtub before going back downstairs and making sure Minori was still in place.
Soon after the door bell rang and Daichi answered the door and brought Akaashi in.
Suga was dealing with Minori though before he took him to the living room and put him on the other side of the couch.
"Hey there!" Sugawara hugged Akaashi and then gently took Emiko. "Daichi, can you go take Emmy to the nursery and play with her? The other three are napping right now."
"Of course." Daichi took her upstairs.
Akaashi looked around. "Um. Why am I here?"
"Because I'm gonna take care of you. Come on." Suga took his hand and took him upstairs into the bathroom. He turned the water on. "I should be glad that both Daichi and I have two jobs. Especially his main one…"
"Huh?"
"Well I work at that accounting office plus I have that little shop online where I sell ear rings. Daichi works at the store and is a massage therapist. He's really good at it. We're both about to take care of you."
"You don't need to."
"Well… I feel the need to. We're friends." Suga held out his arms. "Come here."
Akaashi accepted the hug. It felt nice. When was the last time he'd gotten a hug? Akaashi started crying.
Suga patted his back. "It's going to be okay…"
"I-I'm scared…"
"I know." Suga whispered. He turned off the water.
"W-what if he… he did it?"
Suga sighed. "I don't think so… he's not able to."
"B-but-"
"No. He would leave but not try to LEAVE. He loves you too much. Trust me on that." Suga got him to get into the tub and let him be while he went to the nursery and checked on Emiko and Daichi. "She okay?"
"She's okay. She might need a bath too."
"Oh! Wow I got a genius idea! Hang on!" Suga took Emiko carefully and brought her to Akaashi.
Akaashi looked up from messing with the water.
"How would you like to take a bath with her?"
Akaashi nodded.
"Okay. Here we go." Suga gently undressed her and gave her to Akaashi.
Akaashi smiled and held her to his chest. "Hi princess…"
"Mama!"
Sugawara walked back out and joined Daichi in the kitchen.
"So?"
"We're just going to let him relax."
"Three months away from each other. I don't know how he's doing it."
"Not very well." Suga sighed. "He's scared."
"About?"
"Bokuto could have killed himself or something by now. It's so likely."
"I know…"
Sugawara looked up. "I don't know what I'd do if we were along that long with no contact. It puts a physical toll on people."
"For sure." Suga sighed. He'd need to figure out what to do soon.
