Bokuto turned around and smiled. "Keiji! Hey!"
Akaashi turned and smiled. "Hey. Give me just a second to finish this up."
Bokuto smiled and nodded. He watched Akaashi put Emiko in her crib, the younger humming softly to her until he backed up to Bokuto.
"There we go… she's okay."
Bokuto put his arms around his waist. "We've done this for like four months now... It's all going by so fast…"
Akaashi smiled. "Yeah."
Bokuto kissed his hair. "You're so cool Keiji."
Akaashi chuckled, turning around and hugging Bokuto. "Ah you smell good."
Bokuto turned his face up and kissed his nose. "You too."
Akaashi bent back. "Gah. You're being too nice."
Bokuto faked a growl.
Akaashi snorted. "Shhhh you'll wake her."
"Bleh. To our room." Bokuto hefted him up and walked into their room. He lightly tossed Akaashi on the bed and plopped down. "Bad move."
"Why?"
"I'm hungry." He turned to Akaashi.
"Well? What do you want to eat?"
"Do we have leftovers or something?"
"We should."
Bokuto got up. "Kitchen time!"
Akaashi got up, wrapping himself in the comforter and following him. "Mm. Don't put anything metal in the microwave this time."
"Ah. Right."
Akaashi sat on the kitchen floor as Bokuto prepared him something to eat. It was comfortable and he felt okay so he laid down and relaxed.
Bokuto worked around him, humming to himself.
"Hey, Keiji. Can you taste this?" Bokuto questioned. When no answer came he turned to see Akaashi fast asleep, curled up in their comforter. He smiled and sat by him. One of his hands went to Akaashi's hair while the other stirred something he had in a bowl.
Akaashi hummed, a familiar scent of euphoria coming from him.
Bokuto leaned over and kissed his forehead gently. "You must be so tired…" He turned back to his bowl for a moment and ate some of the cream stew Akaashi had made a few nights prior. "Makes sense though. Crying Emiko isn't a fun Emiko."
He looked back down. A smile met his lips.
"You're doing a great job Keiji." Bokuto set the bowl in the sink and leaned down to play with Akaashi's hair. "I never thought back in highschool we'd be mated and have a kid. Of course I wanted to mate you though. How could I not want to?"
Bokuto could see even now a startled Akaashi as Bokuto rushed out of the room to rinse his mouth. The day the two sharpest of his teeth had popped through, making him a full blown alpha at that point. He knew as he rinsed his mouth why though.
Akaashi was being hugged by one of their teammates a little forcefully. Bokuto hated it. He wanted Akaashi as his own so that wouldn't happen.
He'd been so close to just pinning him down and marking him but he'd taken over the urge. He knew better.
But he'd wanted Akaashi and loved him so much.
The first time he'd seen Akaashi go into heat, he wanted so badly to help but everyone held him back as Akaashi was sedated and taken to the nurse's office to handle himself.
Bokuto had always wanted to help and protect him. It came with how much he loved him.
It would always be part of them. Even if Akaashi knew everything there was to know about Bokuto, he'd always love and protect him.
Bokuto smiled. "I love you." He kissed his forehead and lifted him up into his lap. "Oh gosh I love you so much…"
Akaashi turned and held on.
Bokuto burrowed his head in Akaashi's hair. "I'm so proud of you. You've done so good. You're a great dad. You're so, so pretty…" He chuckled softly. "Oh what'd I do to deserve you. You beautiful mess of perfect. Gah. I love you so much."
Eventually Bokuto stopped with the lovey words and got up, taking him to bed and gently covering both of them.
He fell asleep holding Akaashi, one arm around the small of his back and the other across the top, his hand in Akaashi's hair.

"WAAAA!"
Akaashi startled awake, hearing the cries from Emiko in the other room. He got out of Bokuto's grip and shuffled in there, yawning. "Hey princess… hey…"
He picked her up and tried offering her to feed but she just whined and squirmed. He sighed and sat in the chair with her.
He tried his best to calm her but she kept screaming. Eventually Bokuto walked in too, worried.
"She good?"
"I don't know…" Akaashi saw her pull her ear. "Oh."
"What?"
"It's just an ear infection." He mumbled. "Go get me a hot compress. Well warm…"
"Compress?" Bokuto questioned.
Akaashi looked up. "Yeah. Go get it for me please."
"The hell is a compress?" Bokuto mumbled.
Akaashi blinked. "Koutarou Bokuto you did not just ask me what a fucking compress is."
"Mhmm." Bokuto yawned.
"A wash cloth with warm water."
Bokuto shuffled into the bathroom and came back with what Akaashi wanted. He watched Akaashi calm down Emiko before putting her back to bed and getting Bokuto to go back to their's, laying on top of him.
"Take off your shirt dork." Akaashi mumbled.
"Nooo."
"Take it offff." Akaashi tugged at his shirt.
"I'm sleepy." Bokuto whined.
Akaashi slid his own shirt off. "It's easier to sleep this way."
Bokuto huffed. He took off his shirt and threw it to the side. "Bleh."
"Hush."
"Sleepy." Bokuto closed his eyes.
After a few minutes of laying there Akaashi tiredly whined. "You still awake?"
"No I'm dead."
"Oh my God." Akaashi nuzzled the side of his neck. "Shut up."
"You asked me."
"Eeehhh. Quietttt."
"Lemme sleeeeeeeep."
Akaashi went quiet and heard a snore from Bokuto. He yawned and relaxed. He was asleep again soon enough, still not completely sure how he'd gotten from the kitchen to his bed.
