Chapter 27

"So what did you do to my car?" I heard a voice ask me as I walked out of the elevator. I instantly knew it was Kelly cause she's the only one down here and just because I knew she would ask that. She turned around in my chair wearing gray leggings, a light pink sweater with tiny black dots, black boots on with her curly hair bounching off her shoulders. I rolled my eyes as she put her knees to her chin and waited for me to say something.

"I didn't do anything to it." I said noticing that she was grinning at me.

"Want to take Boomer to the dog park?" Kelly asked as I felt something wet on my fingers. I glanced down and seen Boomer licking my fingers with his eyes barely open.

"Yeah sure after we go visit Annabel." I said and Kelly's eyes brightened up like she just had a huge bucket of candy.

"Yes! I finally get to see Annabel. " Kelly yelled as she jumped out of the spinning chair and ran toward me.

"Whoa!" I yelled as she grabbed my hand and pulled me into the elevator. "Someone's happy." I added while laughing as she never realized that she was still holding my hand. And she kept holding my hand as I smiled until we hit the first floor. Then she let go of my hand and we walked out of the elevator.

"Sorry about holding your hand. I don't know what came over of me," Kelly said as she took her keys out of my hand, "you probably felt weird and uncomfortable." She added while we got outside but I shook my head. She never seen me do that because she lost her focus on me by two birds chasing each other around.

"Do you know where the hospital is?" I asked her as we both got in her car and closed the doors.

"Duh I've been there a lot of times because of Bella," Kelly said and I looked at her weirdly, "when is Annabel getting out of the hospital?" Kelly asked as we pulled out of the parking lot then taking a turn.

"In a few weeks when ever she gets better. " I replied as we took a few more turns then stopped at a red stop light.

"I'm sorry this happened. I feel bad for you. " Kelly says as the light turns green and she presses on the gas.

"Its not your fault." I said.

"I know but if you ever need someone to talk to I'm right here," Kelly said looking over at me as we hit another red light, ''I promise." She smiled at me again.

"Well I know you can keep promises better than I can." I said waiting for the light to turn green.

"Come on Ray stop saying that." She said.

"But it's true," I said glancing at her. Her blue eyes locked on mine as she slowly touched my hand. Her warm fingers grabbing my hand making me feel relaxed and calm. For some reason when ever Kelly touches me I feel so relaxed and calm. But it left me breathless as she looked deep into my eyes, "D-do you know how many times I've broken a promise?" I asked but she shook her head no. "Well it was more than twenty-five." I said as we heard a car honk behind us. Kelly quickly let go of my hand and looked at the stop light. Seeing that it was green and she quickly pressed on the gas while saying oops. We both laughed as we got closer to the hospital.

When we pulled into the parking lot of the hospital we found a parking space. Kelly quickly got out of the car and I was just about to open the car door but I seen a black van. It was parked all the way across the parking lot. The windows were dark so I couldn't see anything in the van. Why are they here? I asked myself when I opened the car door and they quickly drove away faster than a cheetach. I got out of the car and slowly looked over at Kelly who came up to me before asking.
