Chapter 31

9:30pm

I woke up from my nap by hearing soft crys in the room. I slowly opened my eyes and seen that the lights were on. The crying got louder while I turned my head and seen Ray sitting next to me. Crying while in his costume with his hand in his hair, taking deep breaths and looking up at the ceiling as I heard him tell himself that he's stupid.

"How are you stupid?" I asked and he jump starled and looked at me, taking his hand out of his hair.

"Annabel, I didn't know you were awake. " Ray said rubbing his eyes before focusing on me again.

"Well I was sleeping but then I heard you crying," I said watching as he looked over at the doorway, "what happened why are you crying? " I added. But it just made him start crying again. Ray looked over in the corner that still had the huge pink teddy bear, roses, and ballons. Ray grabbed one of the roses and started spinning it around in his fingers.

"What's the matter?" I asked as he stared at the rose before looking up at me.

"Henry, got hurt," I felt my eyes grow wide and I sat up all the way, "he got kidnapped and stabbed." My heart sank and I could see tears in my eyes after a few seconds.

"Is he going to be okay?" Ray shrugged slightly. "I want to see Henry." I demanded Ray but he shook his head again.

"Annabel...." Ray started but stopped when he realized I was about to cry. He sighed and helped me up. I got put in a wheelchair and after Ray found out what room Henry was in. Which was room 137 and it's so far away from my room. I can't believe that Henry got stabbed. Is he going to be okay?

When we got into the doorway of Henry's room. Henry was connected to a lot of wires and machines, that were helping him breath. There were slow beeps going on and Henrys eyes were closed firmly. His skin was pale and his chest was barely moving at all. I looked up at Ray who's eyes were closed tightly.

"They think he won't make it," Ray said shaking his head as tears rolled down his face, "he was so young and he lost so much blood. There's only a little hope that he'll make it. " Ray added.

"Who did this to him?" I asked as a tear came from my eye and I quickly wiped it away.

"I don't know. They just left him on the ground so he could die," Ray replied, "I called his parents and they flipped out. There on their way right now," Ray says, "there going to want to know if Henry is Kid Danger. Because they asked him that before he ran away. Henry got mad because they kept asking him if he was Kid Danger and he kept saying no. So he texted me saying that he was going to spend the night at the lair. And I guess before he could get to Junk N Stuff that's when he got kidnapped. His parents know that Ray Manchester is Captain Man also. They some how found out because they compared your name from what Henry said and what I said on the news. "Ray finished taking deep breaths and looking down at me.

"Is he going to die? "I asked looking at Henry.

"Probably, I mean that's what the nurses say but I don't know," Ray replied taking me closer to Henry. I touched Henrys hand it was cold, I could see a cast wrapped around Henry's stomach, there were bloody spots on the cast, "Henry, never deserved this, he doesn't deserve to die. Henry never did anything wrong to deserve any of this. I just don't know why they would want to hurt Henry. They didn't want money or anything else and they didn't just do it for fun. "

"I never ment for any of this to happen." Ray said and I looked up at him weirdly.

"What do you mean?"

"I mean that none of this would have happened. If I never said your name on the news. His parents wouldn't of asked him so many questions. They wouldn't have known that Ray Manchester is the real Captain Man. This all started that one night that Bella died. Its my fault. Like everything else is my fault, it's my fault that you and Henry are in the hospital. The only reason your in the hospital is because the whole town, knows that Captain Man has a daughter named Annabel. I was so stupid to say your name on live TV and now four men are after you. Cause they know that I would do anything to get you back. Cause thats just like me!" Ray yelled the last thing. "I don't know who killed Bella and I'll probably never know." Ray stopped not wanting to speak anymore.

Suddenly we hear a loud gasp from the doorway. Ray and I turn our heads to see Henry's family standing there. Piper is taking pictures of Ray, Henry, and I. Mrs Hart was about to cry, same for Mr Hart. Ray and I both knew they wanted an explanation of everything that happened. Which ment that Ray might as well just tell them that Henry is Kid Danger. But maybe Ray won't maybe he'll wait and see if they ask.

"Ray, what in the name happened?" Henry's dad asked slightly yelling as Piper was still taking pictures of Ray. So it looks like Henry's parents know who Captain Man really is.

"Henry, got kidnapped and stabbed in the stomach," Ray replied, "he texted me saying that he was going to stay at the lair. I wasn't in town at that time, I was out of Swellview with my friend, Kelly. I got a call from a unknown person and when I answered the call. Someone said that they kidnapped Henry, I got there as fast as I could and when I finally got to the warehouse. I seen that the people left, they left Henry on the ground to die. Henry was laying on the ground and he had lost a lot of blood. I got him here as fast as I could. But he whispered something to me and I couldn't make it out. All I know is that he said Annabel's name. "Ray finished as I looked back at Henry.

"So you have no idea who these men are?" Piper asked and Ray shook his head.

" I just don't know why they would want to hurt him. I think the people that hurt Henry are the men that are after my daughter. It must be those four men in that black car that one night. First it was my ex wife then Annabel and now it's Henry. I can't think of any other person they would be after." Ray said shaking his head.

"Is there anyone who hates you and wants to get revenge? "Piper asked and Ray shook his head.

"I have a lot of enimes that want to get revenge on me. Let's see there's Jack, John, Ben, Chase, Christopher, Brayden, Nolah, Angel, Cameron, Lucas, Edward, Freddie, Sam, Tyler, Brooke, Rebecca, Rose, and last but not least you got Brent." Ray's eyes widened again as his mouth dropped.

"Brent!" Ray whisper yelled while looking down at me. "It all makes since now. Brent is the one that is after you. When he got out of prison he called me, saying that he wanted to see you. Of course I said no, but now he's after you. "Ray said as he snapped his fingers.

"Why did you say no? And who's Brent?" I asked Ray.

"Brent, use to be my friend until he did something to you, when you were only three years old. Im not telling you what he did. But after that he went to prison and almost made Bella and I get a divorce after that." Ray answered.

"But I thought you two did get a divorce. That's why I didn't see you for nine years." I said.

"We did but that was a few years after that happened. We got a divorce so you could stay safe." Ray said.

"Brent, got out of prison a few days ago and now since I won't let him see you. He goes all crazy and puts you and Henry in the hospital and when you get out. He'll be trying to kidnap you," Ray said running his fingers through his hair making it get messed up, "he's probably the one that killed Bella. "Ray added.

"Im going to go visit him. I'll be back. "Ray said while grabbing the wheelchair. As we got out of the room Ray looked mad. And I mean mad. He helped me up on the bed and told me that he would be back tomorrow. Since visiting hours are almost over.

Ray's going to go talk to this Brent guy. And I don't know what that guy did to me when I was three.

But what is Ray going to say to Brent? Is that Brent guy going to go to prison again?

And what if Brent isn't the man after me.
