Chapter 21

"Oh no you don't! I lost you once and I'm not losing you again!" I yelled as I grabbed Annabel's arm, again before she went falling. She was still inside the car, but her feet were hanging off the edge of the cliff. I was outside of my car, but had my arm in the car that had grabbed Annabel's arm, before she would have fell out and went falling off the cliff. She had scratches on her arms and legs that were bleeding very badly.

"Daddy!" She cries and I suddenly felt my heart break at the sight of seeing my only little girl, crying as I pulled her up more making sure that the car didn't move. The news crew was here with there helicopter. "Annabel give me your other hand!" I holler and she slowly gave me her other hand. I grabbed it and pulled her up more and as I did the car started to move slowly. My eyes grew wide as Annabel's body was halfway out of the car.

"I'm going to die!" She bawls as tears rolled down her face, spilling out of her eyes. 

"Annabel you're not going to die. I promise I'll do what ever it takes to get you out of this. I know that I suck at keeping promises but listen to me you are getting out of this car alive." I felt my eyes start to tear up when her eyes opened meeting mine.

"Annabel your all I have left and I'm not going to lose you! " My voice suddenly cracks as I pull her up more, her legs hit the steering wheel making the car fall. I quickly reach for her waist, wrapping my arm around it, gripping it before the car took her down with it. I watched my car fall and roll down the hill, then it lit on fire as Annabel nuzzled her head into my neck and cried. I ran my hand through her brown hair, gingerly scooping part of her hair into my hand and kissing the top of her head.

 I rub her back as I watch my car explode, flames surrounding it. Annabel wrapped her legs around my waist and her hands gripped my shirt. "Annabel it's okay, everything is okay now." I said as I looked up at the helicopter. Then took a deep breath and laid my head on Annabel's head.

Annabel inhales air before letting out a shaky cry. "I love you daddy." I turned around to face cops and a ambulance. I started walking up the hill as I whispered in Annabel's ear.

"I love you more." When we got up there they put Annabel in the ambulance and closed the door. The roads were blocked and then the news crew went up to me and started asking questions.

"How are you not bleeding?" The reporter asked me. How am I going to explain to them that I'm not bleeding? I can't just come out clean saying that I'm Captain Man.

Suddenly I feel something hit the back of my head. I put my hand on the back of my head then turn around and saw Kelly.

(A/N Very important Kelly is Bellas older sister. Kelly is 36 years old. )

"Kelly? What are you doing here? "I asked and she kicked me in the stomach. I fell to the ground and everyone gasped.

"Why did you kill my sister!" Kelly yelled as I got up on my two feet and she started walking over to me.

"I didn't kill Bella. Why would I kill the person I love?" I asked as I dusted myself off.

"Then how did she die?" Kelly asked.

"Someone broke into the house and stabbed her they shot her too."

"Why didn't you save her?" She asked with tears forming in her eyes. Then taking off her glasses and wiping her tears away and putting them back on.

"I tried, but when I got there she was already dead. "I said noticing tears streaming down her face. I came closer to her and put my hand on her shoulder. She quickly turned her head and took my hand off her shoulder.

"Don't touch me." She demanded as she wiped her tears away  It's kind of sad that your own sister died and no one told Kelly how she died. So then Kelly comes to Swellview again after two years and thinks that I killed her. Then finds out that she was wrong. When did Kelly even find out that Bella died?

"Um, Ray?" Kelly looked up at me.

"Yeah? "

"Is it okay, if I stay at your place just for tonight? I don't have anywhere to stay, I never really thought about it since I got here."

"Sure." I said as she pulled out her keys from her pockets.

"Oh, sorry about beating you up. "Kelly said and I just realized this but this is the first time that Kelly has ever said sorry to me. Or has she ever said that to anyone but Bella. The ambulance drove off before I could see if Annabel was okay. Kelly and I got into her car which was a red mustang with a black stripe going down it.

"I knew that Bella had died, but no one told me how she died." Kelly said starting the car. I nodded.

 We got out of the car when she pulled up next to Junk N Stuff and I followed her into Junk N Stuff. When we got down to the man cave Boomer ran out of the lab, barking at Kelly and sniffing her shoes. Kelly started petting Boomer as he stopped and glanced up at me.

"Boomer probably has to use the bathroom." I said and Kelly nodded her head as I grabbed Boomer and Kelly followed me into the elevator. We shot up and got outside. Kelly and I started walking to the dog park as Boomer walked behind us.

"Okay, can you explain to me how and why Annabel is in the hospital." Kelly said as we entered the dog park and Boomer did his business.

"Yeah, so after we got done roller-skating we were racing each other to the car. When I heard something moving in the bushes, I walked over there and four men pushed me in the bushes with them. Then the older one I think spoke up and told me that they were going to take Annabel away from me.Those four men were in a black car shooting at us and when we left Swellview. The car started to slow down and then the men crashed into us and we rolled off the road. I saw that Annabel was still in the car with her side door off to. I got off the ground and ran toward the car. Which the car was flip over on the side and I reached in the car and grabbed her arm, before she fell off the cliff. They took Annabel to the hospital and I'm going over there first thing in the morning. "I finally finished gasping for air as Kelly looked at me with a blank face.

"Oh my gosh, Ray that's horrible!" Kelly whisper-yells as we sat down on a bench. "But what happened to those four men?"

"I think they just drove off. "I replied to her. "I broke my promise." I said wanting to change the subject, looking over at Kelly who had put her jacket on and the hoodie over her head.

"To who?" Kelly questions.

"Bella." Her eyes widened as I interwinded my fingers together.

"Well, Ray that's not really a big surprise, because you are horrible at keeping promises to anyone. "Kelly said being seriously with me.

"But I tried so hard. I did everything to make sure to keep that promise, but I failed. I'm losing everything Kelly, " I glanced at her before speaking again. "I lost the only true person I love more than anything in the world. I lost my car and my promises that I have broke. And third. . . . . .I think I'm going to lose Annabel. My own daughter who has no idea about what's going on. I'm trying so hard Kelly. I lost my own focus on the world around me. And fourth I'm thinking about maybe. . ." I stopped talking as tears formed into my eyes.

"You're thinking about what? "She asked me while running her hand down my back, starting to rubbing my back. "Come on, Ray you can tell me. What are you trying to say?"

I finally spoke as a tear escaped my eye. "I'm thinking about not being Captain Man anymore. "
