~◆~ Rays pov ~ ◆ ~
When I got back to the lair I went to my room and changed from my costume to a red shirt and jeans. I walked out of my room and went into the lab as I could hear Annabel and Henry laughing. They were listening to music as I took a deep breath and knocked on the door.
The music turned off then I heard the door unlock. Henry opened it and smiled but I couldn't smile back as I stepped in the room. Annabel was sitting on the couch with her laptop in her lap. Henry's phone started to ring and he quickly answers it before he told me he had to leave. "My mom is picking me up." Henry walks out of the room as I sat down on the bed looking down at the floor.
"What happened? "I hear Annabel ask as she put the laptop down and sat down next to me. "Is mom okay? " She asked me as I scooted her closer to me and put my arm around her. I shook my head as a hot tear ran down my cheek.
"Someone broke into the house." I finally said and she gasped.
"What? How? Did mom get hurt? Is she in the hospital can we go visit her?" She asked about to cry when I shook my head. "Why?"
"She's," I pauses, looking up at Annabel. She cries, tears pouring down her face, blood shot, glassy eyes, "she's gone. The cops are looking for clues and they are trying to find out who broke in. "I said hoping that it would make her feel better. She slowly nodded her head as I pulled her closer to me. "Your going to be living with me from now on Annabel." Then flashing lights and loud beeping came on. Annabel pulled away from me and I gently laid her down on her bed. I grabbed the blanket, covering Annabel up and telling her I would be back.
When I got out into the main room I went to my desk, pressing a button and watching as Gooch showed up on the computer screen. "You got a phone call from a unknown person." I glance at him weirdly, then he pushes something and for a brief second the whole screen went black but we could hear things in the background. It sounded like someone was arguing and fighting with a whole group of people.
Then someones voice starts. "Your daughter is next." Then the line went dead and the computer screen went completely black.
