Chapter 28

"So is that your boss?" My mom asked and I nodded as I started to rewind the TV. My parents looked at each other as I seen Piper still recording everything. When it got back to the part when Ray was holding Annabel before she fell off the cliff. I paused it and glaced over at my mom then my dad and finally Piper before explaining.

"The one hanging off the edge of the cliff about to fall off is Annabel. Then the man that has Annabel's arm is Ray my boss and her father, " I watched my dad slowly sit down next to my mom, " Ray and Annabel are going through a lot right now. This," I said pointing to the TV before speaking again, "is not even half of it. And yes Ray only tells me what happened in his past because I ask him if its okay...okay more like begging. But I don't think Ray will have any time to come over for dinner well at least not right now. Maybe in about a month or something." I finished and my mom and dad were still staring at each other.

"Annabel?" Piper questioned. Then my mom said the same thing then my dad. They kept repeating her name over and over again.

"Why do you keep saying her name?" I asked putting the remote down on the coffee table.

"Her name sounds really familiar doesn't it?" My dad asked and Piper and mom nodded.

"What is going on!" I yelled in confusion.

"Annabel is Captain Mans daughter! That's why it sounds so familiar cause Captain Man told everyone he has a daughter named Annabel!" Piper yelled out of no where. My mouth dropped when did Ray tell everybody that he has a daughter named Annabel?

"Wait how did Captain Man tell everybody that he has a daughter named Annabel and why?" I asked as my mom grabbed the remote and started clicking buttons. I seen her go to recordings and stroll down until she hit the one she wanted.

"Henry your lucky that we recorded this." My mom said as she clicked ok. She turned up the volume and pointed the remote to the TV. I slowly turned my head to see that Ray was dressed up as Captain Man and he was getting interviewed. This must be the night that Annabel's mother died and the night that Annabel and I doodled all over Rays face. Then the reporter asked Ray if he was wearing lip gloss and he mumbled Annabel's name.

"Annabel."

"Who's Annabel?"

"My daughter."

"You have a daughter?"

"Yeah, and she must have put the lip gloss on while I was sleeping."

My mom paused the TV as my mouth dropped and I started nervously laughing.

"Henry is your boss Captain Man?" My dad asked. "And don't lie cause you always do." He added as I rubbed my forehead and running my hand through my hair. I feel like screaming and yelling to the top of my lungs right now. I don't know why but I just do.

What am I going to do? I can't tell them cause they will know that Ray is Captain Man. But then again if I tell them maybe they won't be thinking that Ray will hurt me. Cause he won't hurt me! That's what they just don't understand. Should I tell them? Or not?

"Henry!" Piper yelled throwing a shoe at my waist. I looked at her before looking at my mom and dad.

"Were waiting and don't lie like you always do." Mom said as I played with my hair. But then my watched started to beep. But only double beeping. That means that its important and I need to answer it. I told them I'll be back in a little bit as I opened the door and slowly closed it while flipping the watch open. Then hiding behind a tree so my parents wouldn't see us.

"Yeah?" I asked as Ray looked over to the left and yelled Boomers name then looking back over at me.

"Hey Henry so Kelly and I are going to leave Swellview- " Ray said but couldn't finish because I cut him off by yelling.

"Your leaving Swellview!" I yelled loud enough for the whole town to hear.

"Henry, Henry, Henry calm down." Ray said trying to make me calm down but I couldn't.

"Are you coming back and when? Why are you leaving? And why is Kelly going with you? Oh! I think I know why she's leaving with you-"

"No wait Hen-" I cut him off again.

"Are you two dating? Are you two leaving Swellview so you can run away with each other. And you two are going to get married. " I said freaking out but as I heard Kelly in the background yelling that there not dating. Nor would she want to date Ray.

"Henry. . .just listen to me. " Ray said as I finally gave in and got quiet so he could speak.

"Kelly and I are not dating and we aren't going to run away with each other. I don't know where you got that from but what ever. Yes, we are only leaving Swellview for a few hours. I just need to get out of Swellview for a while so I can think about everything that has happened. And I can't think here cause there's so much going on right now. But I'm only telling you this because while were gone your going to look after Swellview until we get back. Can you handle Swellview alone?" Ray asked finally finishing as I nodded.

"Yeah I can handle Swellview for a while. But when are you coming back?" I asked.

"Some where around midnight but Gooch will call you on your watch if anything happens. Okay?" I nodded as we said our good byes and I closed the watch. I took a deep breath as I opened the door again and slowly closed the door. Then started banging my head on the door.

"Uh Henry are you okay?" I heard my dad ask as I kept hitting my head.

"Yep everything is just peachy." I said.

"Henry we know that your boss is Captain Man. We aren't that stupid, " I heard my mom say, "but Henry. . ." She added.

"Yeah?"

"Since your boss is Captain Man. Wouldn't it make since if he hired you to be Kid Danger?" I heard her ask me and I stopped hitting my head on the door.

"Uh, why would you think that?" I asked while nervously laughing again.

"Well because your boss is Captain Man and Kid Danger looks a lot like you. He has brown eyes, dirty blonde hair, same height, same face, same smile, and a lot more. " I heard her say as I gulped and didn't have the strength to turn around and face her.

"Are you Kid Danger?" She asked as I shook my head no.

"Henry there is not another kid in Swellview who looks exactly like Kid Danger but you. " My dad said.

"How do you know that? There could be someone else out there." I said still shaking my head. I don't want lose his job. I love working at Junk N Stuff and being Kid Danger. I don't want to get fired.

"Henry we know your Kid Danger. It just makes since now. Your always leaving by your watch beeping and a little while after you leave the news comes on talking about Kid Danger and Captain Man. "

"So. . . ."

" It's everytime you leave this house to go to work. Henry tell us the truth. " My dad said hearing his voice coming closer to me.

"Are you Kid Danger?"
