Saturday
Never did you think you would have to go through this monologue again, but considering the insanity that seems to occur with you and this day of the week, you only thought it was fitting.
Except this time, things were different. You were for once excited about today as you were getting dressed up to go on your date with Jungkook.
What the hell are you saying Y/n? It's not a date, he's just treating you to dinner to make it up to you.
You said scolding yourself.
Jimin was out again, too busy with his music club meetings. Which was understandable, the yearly performance at your school was a huge deal especially to Jimin the perfectionist. If things didn't go his way, you were afraid of the possible mental breakdown he would have after.
But despite Jimin being his own harshest critic, all his shows turned out amazing and you were just lucky to be famous through association which you didn't mind at all. Less work for you.
You were sitting in your room, putting on your finishing touches before you heard your phone light up showing someone texted.
Heavy traffic, but I'll be there in five minutes. I promise.
You smiled seeing the text you got from Jungkook. You don't know why you were excited about this dinner. You and Jungkook weren't particularly close yet and after your first two awkward interactions, you didn't know what to consider him.
Is he a friend? You ask yourself.
Soon your mind was interrupted when you heard a knock on your door. He finally came and right on time too, you thought as you opened the door for him.
He wasn't dressed as formally as he was last time you guys went out. This time he kept it more simple with a black colored shirt with thin white stripes paired with black jeans and a gold buckled belt.
Ironically, you were actually matching as you wore a black spaghetti strapped jumpsuit with thin white stripes as well a gold chain belt and a pair of high heeled boots.
Jungkook smiled as he looked at you. "Looks like we're wearing matching outfits. Now, either we planned this or this must be fate."
You chuckled, shaking your head. "Sure. Ready to go?" You ask.
He puts out his arm. "As ready as you are." You quickly grab your jacket from the coat rack and begin heading out and into Jungkook's car.
Jungkook never really told you where you were actually going. You just assumed it was a small nice restaurant as a simple thank you so you didn't dress too formally. You were quite nervous about that, so you decided on a jumpsuit as a middle ground so you were good either way.
The drive itself was quiet at first. Neither you or Jungkook seemed like you wanted to talk. His phone kept pinging with notifications and Jungkook would glance at it before turning to solely focus on the road.
After a while that's when Jungkook turned on the radio as a soft rock band played. You relaxed, swaying your head to the song.
"I love this song." You muttered absentmindedly, breaking the silence.
"Me too. It's such a soothing song to listen to when you're driving." He said as he turned it up a little bit louder.
"I didn't really take you as a rock person." You said as you looked at his side profile as he kept his focus on the road. You saw him glance at you to give you a warm smile before looking ahead again.
"Well my older brother was so I naturally got into it too."
"You have a brother?" You asked. That's when you notice a sudden change in Jungkook's face as he bit his lip and kept quiet for a long moment.
