We kissed. We actually kissed.
Those were the thoughts that kept constantly flooding your mind as you relived the moment over and over again.
After it happened you ran far away from the party. Getting into a nearby taxi and going straight into your apartment as you ran into your room without a second glance and locked the door.
You slid down your door as you stared into space in bewilderment. You unconsciously start to feel your lips with your fingers still tingling with the softness of his warm lips against yours.
You squealed as you thought about it again and shook your head.
No. There's no way on earth that you and Jungkook kissed. There is just no way.
You thought about the moment again. The way he grabbed your hand and pulled you closer. His eyes glossed over with some gentleness and a spark of boldness. The way he took you in and your lips met and for a moment you could have sworn time probably stopped. You knew it was wrong. After all, Jungkook was just a friend and more importantly a friend who was willingly ready to help you get with your crush.
So why was he confusing you with that?
The worst part of it all was that you couldn't even hate on him for it because as much as you wished you didn't. You enjoyed the kiss. And that would be the start of many problems to come later.

"Ugh why does this passage not make any sense?" You almost scream in frustration as you hold onto the locks of your hair.
"I think you're just looking at it from the wrong way Y/n." One of your friends from your anatomy class says.
"You're not exactly helping me Jen." You sighed. "I don't get why I have to remember every single name of each bone by heart like who has the mental capacity for that."
"Well, it is what it is. You just gotta do what you gotta do Y/n if you want to pass the class." Your classmate Jenny adds on. She had a good point, but you were not having it.
"Well maybe what it is, is just all confusing. Okay, maybe you don't need to know all the names of the bones and how they are connected. And maybe you say you liked anatomy in the beginning but now all it's doing is just confusing you." You stress out. Jenny was about to say something, but you quickly cut her off as you went on a tangent.
"Maybe you thought anatomy was a really good friend and that it would help you out with something important but now it just dragged you by the arm and made you all weird and flustered and now you don't know how to think or what's going to happen next. And you know what maybe you just want to be really mad at anatomy for making you feel this way, but you also like anatomy a lot and now you don't know if you like anatomy as a friend or something more than that." You finally breathe out. You said it so passionately that you had to take a couple of breaths to calm down your lungs and your rapidly beating heart. You took out your bottle of water and drank it, almost choking in the process.
Jenny had to pat down your back as you were slowly losing it. "Are you okay Y/n?"
You start to laugh hysterically. "Yeah totally. Why wouldn't I be? I'm totally okay! Okay!" You almost scream in her face. Jenny backed away. She slowly took the textbook away from you and closed it.
"I think you should take a break from this today." She said very cautiously.
You sigh once again. Rubbing your hands all over your face. "I'm sorry. I just have a lot on my mind right now."
"Clearly." She chuckles.
"Maybe you should sort this whole thing out with 'anatomy'" she air quotes, "before almost chopping someone's head off."
You look away not saying anything.
"Okay, I got to go to my next class. See you later Y/n." She waves off.
"Later."
Once Jenny is gone you look down at your anatomy textbook. "Ugh this is all your fault." You stare at the poor inanimate book. "Like who the f-ck do you think you are grabbing me by the arm and just kissing me like that when you know I like someone else like how f-cking dare you. Ugh I swear if I see Jeon Jungkook one more time I'm gonna... I'm gonna–"
"I would help you finish that sentence, but I'm not sure how that'll end up for me." A voice says from behind. You already know who it was and because you knew, you couldn't bring yourself to turn around.
"What do you want Jungkook?" You asked, trying not to let the frustration build up too much.
"Well for starters, I would like it if we actually got a chance to talk about what happened last night,'' he said. You felt his warm presence as he sat next to you.
You've sat down and hung out with Jungkook multiple times, but for some reason this single touch was affecting you. It wasn't anything too intimate, but the simple feeling of the cotton of his hoodie grazing your blouse made your face almost heat up in ways you didn't like.
You didn't say anything, still looking away from him as you couldn't bring yourself to look no matter how much you wanted to. That's when you heard Jungkook sigh. "Please Y/n we have to talk about it."
"What's there to talk about? It happened. I mean we kissed. Look I know it didn't mean anything for you and you were just trying to help me get to Jin, but it really meant a lot to me."
"Who said it didn't mean anything to me?" He said, which finally caused you to turn around and look at him.
"What?"
He sighed once again, but this time he took your hands in his and brought them closer to him. He held on strongly and the way his fingers would clasp around your hand felt so right for some reason. They felt warm.
"I lied okay." He said, admitting his guilt.
"You lied about what?"
"About Jin. About him still being at the party. Truth was he left a while ago. That's why you couldn't find him."
You shake your head lightly. "What? I don't understand I–"
"I like you Y/n." He interrupts.
Your eyes widen as you blink a couple of times. "Y- You"
"Yes. I like you. For a while now actually. And I wanted to ask you out for real but then I found out about your crush and well, things just happen I guess."
Your heart was pounding at his confession. Jeon Jungkook, the awkward, computer science genius likes you? But at the same time Jeon Jungkook the sweet, caring, and endearing friend you met in such a short time, who has been nothing but an absolute gentleman to you.
And that's when you smile.
"Jungkook." You whisper his name.
"I know this might be asking a lot and you definitely don't feel the same way but I–"
"Yes!" You said, completely cutting him off from whatever he was going to say.
It was his turn to now be confused. "Huh?"
"I think I like you too Jungkook." You say, softly.
"You do? What about Jin?"
"I mean Jin's amazing and everything, but," you glance down to see your interlocked hands, "something about this just feels right."
He smiles. "I feel the exact same way."
You both looked at each other for a moment until Jungkook spoke, breaking your comforting silence.
"Would it be too soon to ask you out? For real this time." He said with hopeful eyes.
"The real question is when and where we are going."
You both smiled at each other as you talked out your date and the future of your relationship, long forgetting about your anatomy textbook.
