Chapter 12

Jungkook's POV

Jungkook was staring off into space as he had a lot on his mind as per usual. It was one of those days where he was working on an assignment within the sanctuary of his team's workplace. He was staring at his busy work of reports and plans on his laptop, knowing he had to finish them but didn't have the motivation to.

His mind was all over the place. He didn't know where he would start or where he would go, so he stayed in the same position that he has been in for the last couple of hours.

The team all had their own individual work which kept them busy and fortunately nothing happened much where they always had to meet, but their hangout became a safe place for them to carry out in a quiet environment.

"I'M HERE!" Hoseok exclaimed as he made his way to the main room with a couple of the other members who were hanging around in their prospective corners.

Well mostly quiet.

None of the other members bat an eye as he was usually always this exuberant and joyous. It was great as he kept the group's energy high especially during times when they weren't having it.

"What are you thinking about Kookie?" Hoseok asked as he approached said man at his desk. Jungkook leaned back looking up to see a smiling Hoseok who was holding on to a bunch of files before going around to place them on his desk.

"Nothing hyung." He sighed as he tapped his fingers along the mahogany wooden table.

"Don't use that excuse with me." Hoseok scolds.

"Hyung I'm not–" Hoseok puts a hand up causing Jungkook to shut up, he knew better not to speak back to his hyung when he was about to go off on a tangent. It never goes well.

"Listen Jeon Jungkook, we can do this the easy way where you tell me or the hard way, your call." He crosses his arms.

Jungkook lifts an eyebrow. "What are you gonna do, ground me?" Jungkook challenges back.

"Jeon Jungkook, don't make me have to pull a code yellow." He said in a warning manner.

Jungkook gave up with a sigh knowing the horrendous fate of what that would be. "Okay fine." He exasperates. "I'm trying to help a friend get together with her crush." He admits.

Hoseok starts to laugh immediately which causes Jungkook to frown knowing how amusing this might look to his hyung.

"Why would you do that?" He asked.

Jungkook ruffles his hair as he continues to lean back in his chair. "Ahh I don't know hyung. I just wanted to do something nice for her and get closer and this was the first thing that popped into my head." He sighs.

Hoseok looked at him for a moment, clearly pondering on something as he crossed one arm and stroked his chin with the other hand. "You like her, don't you?" He smirks.

Jungkook immediately stood up straight and looked at him in confusion. "What? No! I'm just trying to be a good friend."

"Oh my gosh! Jungkookie has a crush!"

"I don–"

"What? Jungkook has a crush? It's happening!" Taehyung interrupts.

"Nothing is happen–"

"Wow what other loser is falling for a comp sci major." Yoongi chuckles in the corner. He didn't talk a lot among the team, but when he did his words always held something.

"Okay, that was a little uncalled for hyung." Jungkook said, offended as he not only got his sentences caught off multiple times, but also getting bullied by his hyung.

"Oh relax Kookie. It's not that big of a deal to admit you have a crush." Jimin now said as it seemed to be his turn to join in on this frustrating circle.

Jungkook rubs his face, pushing his glasses up as he knew he wasn't going to get out of the teasing anytime soon. Truth be told, he told Y/n he would try to help her win over her crush, but had no idea where to start so he figured he could ask his hyungs. He's starting to regret this decision, but decided to go along with it anyway.

"What would you do if you wanted to help a friend win her crush over? Like how do you make someone's crush fall in love with them?"

He remembered how swoon Y/n seemed to look when she talked about Jin and went on about how he would send her his notes when she didn't understand something and have it neatly detailed and highlighted to her understanding. Or about the time when he would randomly catch her studying and would offer her a snack even if she refused.

For some reason, something about knowing Y/n's crush on Jin bothered him a little, but he figured it was probably out of an overprotective nature he had developed for her as a friend.

Jimin laughs before making a cup of coffee and drinking it by the corner where Yoongi sat.

"Why don't you just pretend to be her boyfriend and make her crush jealous. That way he'll notice his feelings for her and make him try to steal her away from you." Jimin says, clearly sarcastic, but that must have somehow gone over Jungkook's head as he nods.

"That's brilliant!" He exclaims, causing everyone to turn their heads.

"I'm sorry what?"

"That's it! I'll just pretend to be her boyfriend and it'll work out perfectly."

"B-tch wha–"

"Ah Jungkook I don't think you got the joke here." Hoseok said, slightly nervous.

"No, that's it. It's the perfect plan." He stands up straight before quickly packing up. "Thanks hyungs! I'll see you all later!" He said, quickly running out.

"Ahh what just happened?" Jimin asked while taking a sip of his coffee along with Yoongi.

"Jungkook being a dumbass is what happened." Yoongi said.

"Should we do something?" Jimin asked.

"Nah, let it fail. It'll be a cute and funny story to tell later."

"I guess so."

"See this is why we never get anything effectively done in this team I swear." Namjoon complains, walking in on the members.
