Chapter 14

"I'm sorry. But did I just hear you right?" You asked Jungkook still a bit shook from what he just proposed to you.

"You did. I said that I'll be your boyfriend." He reiterates.

"Umm Jungkook listen I'm flattered and all but–"

He shakes his head. "No, no, no. Not real boyfriend. A fake one." He clarifies.

"Wait, let me get this straight," you put a hand out in front of him as you continue, "you want to pretend to be my boyfriend?"

He nods his head.

"And how is that supposed to help me get Jin's attention?"

"That's the thing. If he sees you with me, he might get jealous which would cause him to want him to steal you away from you."

"That's so stupid." You said, giving him a look of disbelief. "And what if Jin is just not an asshole and respects my boundaries of having a boyfriend." You say as you raise your eyebrow, crossing your arms

"Well that's where I thought about it. There's a party that's going to happen tonight with a couple of the seniors and some alumni are invited as well. Considering he works at a T.A. he most definitely will probably be there."

"Ah huh." You say, nodding along as he continues speaking on his idea.

"Well I was thinking maybe we could break up at the party or something that way he would want to comfort you. Then you guys can talk and just naturally get closer."

"So you want the foundation of our entire relationship to be a lie?" You questioned.

"Well you can always tell him the truth and just say you were trying to figure out a way to get close to him cause you liked him. You know it'll be a cute story."

"Wow you're actually serious about this."

"I am. I mean you don't have to go with it, I just thought I would help you."

"Why?"

"Cause you're my friend and friends help friends."

"I guess." You said, still a bit unsure about the whole thing.

"Okay, you don't have to go along with the idea if you feel–"

"Sure."

"What?" Jungkook says, looking up at you to make sure you're actually serious.

"I said sure. As crazy as it sounds maybe it might work. If anything I can just say it's all a joke and still talk to him at the party anyway."

He nods his head. "Yeah."

"So what times the party?"

"It starts late like around late at ten I think."

"Well okay then. Well pick me up by 9:30 Jeon and don't be late." You smile.

He smiles back. "I won't."

"Wow you really came at exactly at 9:30 huh?" You said as you opened the door to a Jungkook who was wearing a black t-shirt with ripped jeans, black combat boots and a belt.

"I am nothing without my punctuality." He grins.

"Hmm I bet. Alright let's get this show on the road I guess."

Jungkook drove you to the party which was being held in somebody's apartment, one of the seniors you think.

He held your hand as soon as you got out of the car and escorted you into the party. You haven't had the pleasure of really going to a late night college party until today so you were both excited and nervous.

Jungkook probably sensed your nerves a little as he held your hand a little tighter, almost reassuring that it was going to be okay.

The minute you stepped in you saw college students drinking already and people dancing around everywhere. It wasn't actually as chaotic as you thought it would be, but it was still a bustling crowd and people sure knew how to wild.

"Hey I'll try to get us a couple of drinks. What would you like?" Jungkook asks. You didn't notice when he let go of your hand.

"Oh, fruit punch I guess."

"Got it." He says as he makes his way through the crowd and into the kitchen.

You stand there awkwardly until you see a familiar figure walking by. You smile as you go up to him, tiptoeing so you can tap him on the shoulder.

He turns around and once he sees you, he smiles. "Oh hey Y/n! Didn't think I see you here?" Jin said.

"Me neither but ah well here I am I guess." You smile.

You and Jin converse, talking about little things here and there like your mutual psych class to your interests. You realized that Jin loves telling a lot of dad jokes and as much as you would normally find it unfunny, coming from him they were cute.

You laugh until you see a red plastic cup within your sight.

"Here's your fruit punch." Jungkook says with a smile. He was holding onto the cup a little tighter than expected as you saw it slightly crush within his hands, but regardless you took with a smile.

"Thanks." You said. You turn to look at Jin who was smiling at the both of you. "Oh Jungkook this is Jin by the way, Jin this is Jungkook my–"

"Boyfriend." He finishes. "Nice to meet you." He say, extending his hand out to Jin.

Jin almost was taken aback by his gesture and words, but then soon returned his smile and shook his Jungkook's hand.

"Seokjin. But you can call me Jin for short." He turned to look at you. "I didn't realize you had a boyfriend Y/n."

"Neither did I." You quietly mumbled to yourself, but look back up with an awkward smile.

"Well I guess I'll talk to you later, I'm got to go check up on my friend." He said, excusing himself and leaving.

You sigh as you watched his back go on and disappearing onto the crowd. You looked at the drink in your hand before turning to Jungkook who was happily drinking away and looking around.

"You sure this whole fake boyfriend thing is going to work?" You ask him once again.

He finished his drink with a satisfying sigh. "Of course! Just trust me."

"Okay. Whatever you say I guess."

The night went on for quiet a long time that you were actually surprised that you stayed until two in the morning. Some people left, probably having classes later on the day. You weren't too worried since you had nothing on your schedule tomorrow– well technically today.

You and Jungkook stayed close the entire night, insisting it was a good way to keep Jin jealous and more interested in you. You didn't get a chance to see Jin again at the party so while you and Jungkook were having a great conversation, you soon interrupted him. "Hey, I'm going to go see if Jin is around."

You were about to turn around to head into the crowd when Jungkook suddenly grabs your hand. "Wait!"

You turn your head to face him as looked at his hand that was grabbing your arm and traced his arm to look into his wide doe black eyes sparkling.

"What's wrong?" You ask.

"I uh. I think I have another way to really make Jin jealous and like you." He says, almost nervously.

"Really? What is it?"

As soon as you let those words slip from your mouth, the next you knew was Jungkook pulled you closer by the arm. They wrapped around your torso, pushing you closer to his body that you could smell the sweet scent of his cologne.

You looked up at him, shocked and before you could say anything else, he leaned down and that's when you felt his warm lips against your own.
