Saturday
The dreadful day has finally arrived sooner than you would have wanted and here you were, getting all dressed and glammed up for no reason in particular other than the fact you didn't want to make a fool of yourself.
Fortunately enough, if you could really say that, Jungkook actually did agree to be your plus one for the occasion.
He either felt really bad for you or had nothing better to do, nevertheless you were grateful. You actually felt comfortable around him after getting to really know him which was pretty hard for you to do in general. Hearing how Jimin helped him after he got into a little embarrassing fight after school one day, made you understand their bond a little more.
Jimin may seem sassy, petty, and sarcastic– and he is– but he would never help those unless they were truly worth it. He always did have a good sense for finding genuine people which was something you always admired about him among other things. Not that you'd ever tell him, his ego was big enough as it is.
"You look so good in that dress Y/n. I'm almost kinda disappointed I'm not gonna be able to take you there myself." Jimin said, warmly smiling at you. You twirled around in your dress, feeling confident in the way you look too.
"Wow I must look amazing if the Jimin himself complimented me." You joked as Jimin rolled his eyes.
"Okay I'm not a total heartless b-tch okay. I can admit when I see my best friend looks amazing. Not that they aren't already." He smiles.
"Aww thanks Chim. I don't know why I'm so nervous right now. I just wanna go and get this stupid thing over with." You sighed as you rub your hands on the sides of your dress feeling anxious.
Jimin comes up behind you and puts a gentle hand on your shoulder. "You'll be fine, it's one dinner and you don't have to see or worry about them anytime soon." He says which managed to calm you down a little. "Besides I think you're more worried about your hot date." He wiggles his brows.
You rolled your eyes. There he is, the normal Jimin. You smacked his hand away. "Oh relax, he agreed to do this out of being nice."
"Whatever you say." He teases. He then checks his watch before finishing up the drink he had earlier. "Oh I gotta go, but tell me everything that happens afterwards babe." He said as he went out the door, putting on his shoes.
"I will, later!" You screamed as soon as he closed the door and rushed out.
You sit down on your couch waiting for Jungkook as he said he would come pick you up. You scrolled through your phone to pass the time until you heard a knock on your door.
You quickly went to the door and opened up to see Jungkook, dressed in a black tuxedo fashioned with a white shirt and a black bowtie. His raven hair slightly parted in a way that showed off his forehead and his eyes, free of glasses, were so black that if it weren't for the little highlight of light in his eyes, you'd be almost scared. His ears were accessorized with one small, silver hoop earring which accented his look. A total contrast from the boy you met the day before, you could safely reach one conclusion.
He looked fine.
"Wow Y/n you look... Amazing." He said, complimenting the red dress you had on paired with a black leather jacket.
You shake your head slightly, snapping out of whatever daze you were in. "Ah thanks." You smiled. "You don't look too bad yourself."
He smiled. "I hope so. Wouldn't want to leave a bad impression."
"Please, you're doing more than fine."
He held out his arm for you. "Ready to go?" He asked. You gladly take his arm.
"Yup."

"Hey I don't think I ever really got a chance to say this. But I'm really grateful that you're doing this." You said turning to Jungkook as you both got out of his car. He opened the door for you which he didn't have to at all, but maybe chivalry wasn't so dead after all.
"It's not a problem at all. Besides, this could be fun." He says as you both head towards the banquet hall. It was quite fancy for what it's worth. Chandeliers hung on to the ceilings as the walls were decorated in gold. You were almost in awe.
Surprisingly, you and Jungkook managed to get here earlier than expected so as they finished setting up the buffet and food downstairs, you and Jungkook decided to wait and talk by the balcony on the upper corner of the banquet. You both hung up your coats on the coat rack before you went and leaned against the railings looking out, seeing the sky.
"Fair warning I will tell you now, my sister will probably try her best to talk to you, my mom will probably coddle you, and then my dad will try his hardest to 'interrogate' you but he's really harmless." You said, giving a quick rundown of what to expect from your family.
Jungkook nodded with a smile. "Can't wait."
"Yeah my family is a bit abnormal which you'll soon discover, but for the most part they're not that bad."
"That's good. Are you excited to see your older sister get married?"
You shrugged. "I don't know. I guess I don't really have a say either way. It's her life."
He laughs. "Yeah I get it. I would feel the same if my older bro–" he stopped his sentence and looked away which caused you to turn to look at him. He turns back to you with a smile. "Nevermind."
Although, you wondered what he was going to say, you decided not to push into it.
"So what about your sister's fiance? Have you met him?" He asked.
"Not really. Met him like once. Ugh don't get me started on him." You said, pinching the bridge of your nose with your fingers as if you were getting a headache.
"How come? You don't like him?"
"He just gives me such bad vibes and he's pretty much an arrogant prick. I honestly don't know what she sees in him. They've only been dating for like three months before they got engaged anyway. This whole thing just has bad idea written all over." You huffed, crossing your arms.
"Well I'm no expert or anything, but maybe he's not so much of a bad guy once you really get to know him. You can't leave everything to first impressions you know."
"I guess." You said sighing and uncrossing your arms. You looked down to see that the food was all ready and that's when your older sister seemed to notice you.
"Oh Y/n! You're here! Quick come down!" She screamed as she waved for you.
"Well that's our cue I guess." You said, nudging Jungkook. "You prepared for total insanity?"
He laughs. "I suppose I did sign up for this." You were about to go all the way down the stairs to catch up with your sister when Jungkook suddenly stopped, causing you to freeze on the spot.
You looked over him standing still as his eyes seemed to go wide.
"What's–"
"Who's that?" He asked, cutting off your question with his own.
"Who's who?"
He points to your sister's fiance who was complaining to the waiter about something as your sister tried to calm him down with a kiss on the cheek, but he just grunted away from the buffet table.
You roll your eyes. "Ugh that's him. My sister's fiance." Already seen this man twice and you despised him.
But you wondered why Jungkook stopped because of him. As you were about to ask, he spoke up which made you confused.
"I have to go." He said.
"What?"
"I have to go." He said again as if that was clearing up anything. He soon goes up, grabbing his jacket.
"Wait!" You yelled, almost running after him. "Where are you going?"
"I'm so sorry Y/n, but I have to leave."
And with that he just left.
