Jungkook's POV

Friends.

That's great. You finally fixed everything.

Jungkook thought as he was making his way to his car from dropping off Y/n to her apartment.

He got into the car, finally checking his phone which was being filled to the brim with notifications and messages. He wanted to respond back to these as soon as possible just in case, but he also didn't want to seem rude in front of Y/n considering how he blew her off once before.

He didn't want to let her down again.

So he read over all the messages before deciding to head back to the team's hangout to go over everything he missed. Besides Jimin, no one else knew what he was doing tonight which he felt bad for not informing them beforehand.

He was more focused on making it up to Y/n, it slipped his mind. Considering how much Y/n means to Jimin, he couldn't do anything that could make her upset and uncomfortable with him.

He remembered the scolding he got from Jimin the day he had to run off from her sister's engagement party.

"I swear to f-cking everything Jeon Jungkook you are the most dumbest person I have ever met. I know you're a huge nerd, but I didn't think your brain couldn't process basic social cues."

"Hyung, you know it was an emergency." Jungkook tried to defend himself.

"Well you didn't have to straight up run away dumbass. You could have said that before you left." Jimin scolds, his tone becoming more harsh.

"I know. I'm sorry. I just panicked and I didn't know what else to do in the moment." He sighed as he ran his fingers through his hair in frustration.

"I don't care. You weren't the one who she went to after she was hurt and literally dumped. I may annoy the crap out of her, but I won't hesitate to f-cking pounce at any man that tries to hurt her."

"I'm sorry." That was all Jungkook felt he could say as Jimin kept berating him.

"You're apologizing to the wrong person. At least say sorry to Y/n and come up with a good explanation. Don't f-ck it up any more than you have."

He smiled reliving the long conversation he had with Jimin. He never realized how strong your bond was. Jimin was so protective of you, almost like an older brother, and it warmed his heart seeing that. He knew you were someone special and dear to his hyung's heart so he had to make sure that you forgave him.

He was glad you did. He was especially glad that he was able to call you a friend. Though he barely knows you, something about you made him feel happier just with your mere presence. You were sarcastic, you were witty, and you had a way with conversations where he never ever wanted to stop talking to you.

Soon enough Jungkook was able to pull up near the team's hangout.

The music club.

"Well look what the cat dragged in." One of his hyungs said as he walked right in.

He rolled his eyes at Taehyung who playfully giggled in the corner.

"So how was your date?" Jimin smirked as soon as he saw Jungkook.

Jungkook was about to explain that it wasn't really a date until someone spoke ahead of him, cutting him off.

"What Jungkook went on a date? Why am I just hearing about it?" Hoseok frowned as he saw the boy go near his station to pull out his things.

"It wasn't a date. I was just trying to apologize and make it up to them."

"Oooh sounds like Kookie might have a crush." Jimin teased.

"I do not! We're just friends."

"That's how it starts Jungkook and then you fall in love and kiss in the rain and–"

"What is this? A drama?" Jungkook says looking at Taehyung in confusion.

Taehyung bounces off his corner and into the center of the room where their long conference table stood. "It's a classic friends to lovers story."

"I just wanted to make sure they didn't hate me after I just left them with no explanation."

"Ahh even better! An enemies to friendship to lovers. I'm jealous you have it all." Taehyung pouts which causes Jungkook to roll his eyes.

"Anyway what's with all the alert that's been happening. I'm sorry I couldn't answer back in time." Jungkook said, switching the topic.

"Nothing we couldn't handle on our own Mr. Tech Genius. Besides I'm more interested in your date." Jimin said as he stood next to Jungkook who hovered over their main computer.

"It wasn't a date hyung!"

"Alright whatever you say." Jimin smiles. "I'm just glad you were able to make it up to Y/n. I got a text earlier saying your apology went well. Good job."

"Of course! I wouldn't do anything to hurt your friend and well Y/n's my friend too. I wouldn't want her to ever hate me."

"Luckily this turned out to be a great time for the both of you." Jimin said, patting Jungkook on the shoulder. "By the way, what excuse did you use to explain why you had to suddenly rush out?" Jimin asked, raising an eyebrow.

Jungkook poked the inside of his cheek with his tongue afraid to admit what he was going to say. "I said my mom was in the hospital."

"Seriously Jungkook?"

"What? I panicked! Also, I don't know if I'm ready to have the dead family story yet."

Jimin sighed. Out of all the other members here, Jungkook became the closest to Jimin and he knew how hard it was for him to open up to them originally. They got there eventually and now the trust in their team was unbreakable which made them even more powerful.

"Well if you're planning to be friends with her, she's gonna have to find out eventually."

"All in good timing hyung. Anyway, fill me in on everything now. I looked at the report and I noticed some things."

"Really like what?" He asked. All the other members were doing their own work as Jungkook and Jimin were hunched over the computer.

"Look you see–" Jungkook was soon about to explain when Jimin cut him off.

"Your phone's ringing."

"What no it's not it's–" Jungkook was soon cut off by the sound of his cellphone.

Jimin looked at him with a cheeky smile before Jungkook rolled his eyes. He recognized his ringtone to be his aunt’s so he knew he had to pick up.

"Okay, okay. I'll be home soon I swear. I'm just doing last minute things with the music club right now. Yes I did eat. Okay, okay I'll be home soon, love you." And with that Jungkook was able to hang up on his aunt who was practically nagging.

"Well looks like you gotta go. Just explain it to me and the rest of us tomorrow."

"Alright."

And with that Jungkook went home.
