Chapter 5

He just left.

He left?

What the f–

"Y/n!" Your older sister exclaimed, pulling you out of your thoughts. You turned to look at her, mustering up the best fake smile you could.

"It's me!" You try to say just as enthusiastically.

She looks around and over your shoulder, pulling back to furrow her eyebrows. "Where's your boyfriend?" She asks.

Your eyes twitched. "He left."

"He left?" She asked. She begins to pout. "But why? We were just about to start."

You shrug. "Beats me. He said it was an emergency and that he had to do something quick and left." You lied.

"Oh what a shame and to think I was so looking forward to meeting him."

"Maybe next time. Or never." You murmured the last part.

"Well come on then. Mom and Dad are waiting by the table and they've been dying to see you again." She said, grabbing your arm and dragging you to the large, grand table with your parents seated all the way on the far end while your sister's fiance was seated next to your father discussing who knows what.

Your sister pointed toward your seat which was right next to your mother as she took the seat across from you.

"It's so good that the whole family is here on such a momentous occasion." Your father announced.

How you prayed to be anywhere but here.

"I'm so happy that we can allow such a wonderful man such as Jihoon to marry my sweet daughter." He continued.

Wonderful my ass.

You thought.

"I'm so happy to be here with all of you too sir. Especially with this beautiful lady who I can't wait to marry." He said turning to your sister, lifting her hand to kiss her knuckles. Your sister giggled as she covered her mouth and looked away as your parents cooed. Everyone thought the couple being romantic was so cute while all you wanted to do was throw up.

For a while that's all the dinner and engagement party was. Any other guest that was invited left their presents for the young couple and gave their blessings. This went on all night until it was finally nearing the end which you couldn't be more grateful for.

Once the last of the guests left and it was just your immediate family, your father called to everyone's attention by tapping on his wine glass.

"A toast. Since it's just us and we are almost done for the night, I want to personally celebrate our reunion and for Jihoon to be able to join us soon." He then turns to your sister's fiance. "Welcome to the family son. Cheers!"

We all clinked our drinks in unison, but before we could successfully toast we felt a slight rumble which caused us to slightly lose our balance.

"What on earth–"

And that's when glasses flew off the table as a whole man crashed on top of the table scaring us.

Only this wasn't just any man, it was none other than the brains of the Guardians himself– D-man.

What the? What's he doing here?

You wondered. Your answers were soon answered when D-man turned around to smile at all of you before focusing his attention on Jihoon.

"Sorry to interrupt this little party," D-man starts off saying. "But it looks like one of your guests hasn't been on his best behavior."

You all stared confused as you noticed his intense glare at Jihoon.

"What do you want from us?" Jihoon speaks up.

D-man chuckles. "I think you should know why I'm here, Jihoon was it? That's what I heard them call you. That's funny Jihoon or should I say Jailbreak?" He smirks.

Jailbreak? Where did you hear that name before?

Not so soon after, you saw Jihoon's eyes go wide as he starts making a run for it. D-man soon follows foot after using one of his gadgets to catch him. Jihoon was quite the runner and fighter as you and your family coward together far away watching the whole scene.

"You know it's not nice to leave an old friend hanging huh." D-man said which caused Jihoon to curse him off. He was putting off a long hard fight until finally D-man was able to pull something out that was successfully able to knock him down.

After the fight, police managed to arrive at the scene thanks to your quick reflex of calling the cops when the fight first broke out.

D-man explained everything to them and to you guys as he exposed Jihoon's true identity.

Jihoon, well Jailbreak or whatever his name really is, ran a huge drug ring before fleeing to another city and changing his outward appearance to escape being caught and going to the police.

Unfortunately, I guess he didn't plan on having D-man himself to crash his engagement to your sister.

You know, you were kinda glad that this happened.

At least you were right about having a bad feeling about him.

You finally came home. It was late and after the night you had, all you wanted to do was go to bed and not wake up for a month.

"Welcome home babe." Jimin said once you unlocked the front door to your shared apartment and walked in. You noticed Jimin standing by the open counter at the kitchen with a cup of hot chocolate in his hands. "So how was your night? Did you have fun on your date?" He smiles.

You scoffed. "Some date. Man didn't last fifteen minutes before running off and literally leaving me stranded."

He put his mug down before furrowing his eyebrows. "What? Jungkook wouldn't do that. He's not that type of guy."

"Well clearly you don't really know him cause he did." You let out. You kicked off your shoes before plopping yourself into the couch.

Jimin walked in before sitting down next to you. Murmuring something under his breath which you really couldn't hear other than what you made out to be the words 'kill' and 'dumbass'.

"So what happened?" He asked.

You begin to explain everything from the moment Jungkook picked you up to when literal D-man showed up, beating up your sister's fiance and getting him arrested. You also told him about finding out that your sister's 'oh so great' fiance was a runaway criminal who changed his name and moved to a different city where he met your gullible sister.

"Wow that's quite the night. If I didn't know you any better, I'd say you're going f-cking insane right now."

"That's what I thought too. But you know what else is weird?" You asked.

"What?"

"Jungkook. The moment he saw Jihoon he just kinda froze almost as if he knew who he actually was. I don't know maybe I'm just going crazy there, right?"

Jimin stayed silent for a moment until he grabbed your head and put it on his shoulder. "Yeah, I'm sure it's nothing at all. Just get some rest Y/n."
