I steady myself as I land clumsily on my feet, nearly falling to the floor if it wasn't for draco holding me up. I curse myself mentally - maybe today wasn't the best day for wearing black stilettos. "You okay?" Draco asks as he grips my hand tighter. I nod.
"Somethings up, what is it?" I sigh at my best friend as he raises an eyebrow. Why does he always see right through me?
"What if..." I fiddle with the sleeves of my black knitted jumper. I'm wearing a charcoal black sleeveless dress that goes up to my knees with my cropped jumper on top. I'm meeting Draco's parents for the first time - a big moment for me. Not for him. He doesn't seem to care much about his family or his home. Of course I knew the stories.
"They don't like me..?" He smiles slowly at me.
"Oh come on, Kells. You're a Slytherin, you're pureblood, you're parents are respected a lot because of who they are, and you're a very great person. Not to mention, beautiful." I raise my eyebrow.
"Wow, you must be desperate. When did you come up with that one?"
"Last night in bed actually, but never mind that. Look," he grabs my hands, holding them to his chest. "I promise they will love you. Who doesn't right? And they won't say anything bad about my girlfriend." I nod, taking in a deep breath.
I had agreed to pose as Draco's girlfriend until his parents decided to not marry him off to an obnoxious rich girl. Our plans were supposed to change the plans for Draco's future. But whether it work... I didn't know. But I knew I had to do what I could for him, he really meant the world to me.
"Okay." I nod confidently as Draco takes my hand and we walk to the front door of the huge house. He knocks twice and a small house elf opens the door. "Ah, welcome home Mr malfoy." She steps aside to let us in and I notice she's cowering in fear.
"Yes, yes thank you Winky. Now Listen, I need you to take Kelly's and my suitcases to our room if you don't mind."
"Of course, Sir." She bows before the 18 year old as if her life depends on it. To my horror, come to think of it, it probably does. As she starts to lift our heavy luggage, my heart goes out to her. She nearly slips with Draco's and I quickly hold it up before it topples on her head. She smiles gratefully. "Thank you miss."
I smile back, "of course." I look at Draco as he shakes his head at my act of kindness. He doesn't understand that I'm a kind person - he's always telling me the sorting hat was high or something when I was put into Slytherin. I giggle at it every time - is it even possible for a hat to be high? According to Draco it is.
He smirks at me and press my dark red lips together, ignoring his pettiness. Before the elf reaches the top of the stairs, Draco calls out, "Winky, where is my father?"
"Right here." A low, deep voice sounds out from beside Draco and we turn to see his father stood in the doorway of the dining room. His long, straight blonde hair falls perfectly on his shoulders, not a single strand out of place. His snakeskin cloak makes his huge, muscly shoulders look bigger than they are. He holds a cane in his right hand, a metal snake head on the top of it, baring it's steel fangs. I shudder a little.
"Father," says Draco, bowing his head slightly as he strides over to us. He stops about a metre in front of us.
"Draco... and you must be..." his bright icy blue eyes land on me. I've seen these eyes before, Draco has exactly the same, yet looking into his is far more intimidating. I blink.
"Kelly Rivera, sir..." He smirks at my shyness and offers his hand. I take it, the contact making my skin buzz. His rough hand holds mine as he brings it to his lips, planting a small kiss on my knuckles. For a second, making me want to scream with frustration. Damn, what has gotten into me?
