"Everything and more tells me that I should walk away. But I just wanna stay."

We land sharply on the ground, Lucius stood to my side as I fall to my knees, my hands on my thighs whilst I struggle to catch my breath. "Kelly." I hear his worried voice. Instantly, he is beside me, his hand gently rubbing my back as he watches me with concern. "Are you all right?"

I nod, taking in a breath as a light breeze sweeps past me, bringing me more at ease. "I'm ok," I assure him. "I just... feel a bit sick still, that's all."

He nods, yet he still looks very worried. As he helps me stand, I feel a horrible churning in my stomach, making my heart drop with worry.

Was it safe to apparate whilst pregnant? I had absolutely no clue.

I didn't even know if I wanted this child, and yet here I was, concerned for it's safety.

Oh god... what was I thinking?

I try to shake away the guilt I'm feeling as I hold on to Lucius for support, eventually standing up without his help. I breathe out in relief when I see the familiar cottage a few metres in front of us, the bright green grass swaying around it and puffy wisps of smoke emerging from the small chimney.

"This is it?" Lucius asks, glancing at the cottage before looking at me. I nod, swallowing a horrible taste in my mouth. "All right," he looks around, behind us and into the trees. I notice he looks focused, like he's searching for something.

"What is it?"

He looks at me, the worry disappearing from his expression.
"It's nothing, kitten." I raise my eyebrows, making him sigh a little. "There may be snatchers in these woods, that's all. I have to stay wary."

I gulp, trying not to think about the last time I was in these woods. I still hadn't told him. "Do you want to go check?" He looks at me worryingly. "I don't want to leave you."

"I'll be right here, safe in the cottage." I nod towards the small building as he thinks for a moment, before nodding hesitantly.

"Are you sure you'll be okay?"

He holds my hands, suddenly very close to me. I smile to ease his worry, yet beneath it all, I'm feeling a lot more anxious than him. "I'll be fine, I promise." He smiles back. "But... come back quick. Okay?"

He smirks, "Lord knows I can't stay apart from you for long, even when I want to."

I laugh a little, my heart lifting but I don't say anything. Instead, I let him pull me in for a sweet kiss, slowly moving his mouth against mine as he savours the taste of my lips. When he finally pulls away, he rests his forehead on mine, his blue eyes hesitantly watching me. "Stay inside, and no matter what happens, do not leave that cottage. Do you understand?"

He speaks firmly, expecting me to argue back or at least make a snide remark but I merely nod in response. I was in no mood to argue with him because of my... condition, and so I wasn't planning on talking back. Even if that meant having to ignore my usual stubbornness and just listen to him without complaint for once. His large frame of a body shadows me as his hands grip my waist. "I love you," I say softly, watching as a smile appears on his lips.

"I love you too, darling."

After fussing for another few minutes, worrying and making stupid excuses for why he should stay with me, Lucius finally leaves, agreeing to do so after I've gave him one last parting kiss, before saying his goodbyes.
