After spending the day ice skating with Draco due to his promise made yesterday, we both go back to the house, giggling and gasping for breath as Draco makes me laugh. We enter the ginormous living room, collapsing on the sofa after Draco tackles me, tickling me like crazy. "Draco! Haha, stop! Please!" He finally stops when narcissa enters the room, smiling at the two of us. "Draco stop, let the girl breathe!" He sits up and I do too, leaning on his shoulder for support, trying to catch my breath. "Thank you Mrs Malfoy."
"No problem, sweetheart." She winks at me as she leaves. I turn to Draco, curious. "How come she's so supportive of us if you're supposed to be focusing on other things and not wasting your life away." I say, putting on my best scary Lucius accent, making Draco chuckle. "I'm not sure, but I don't forgive her though - she still supports her husband more. No matter what." I nod understandably. "You shouldn't be so hard on her you know," I say, seriously. "Hmm, maybe..." he stares into space, probably reliving the worst times of his childhood. I hate when he does this - it pains me to see him sad. He's told me some of the worst things before - like the loneliness he had as a child or the pressure being put on him by his father. Knowing these things makes me feel even more guilty for kissing Lucius.
"I'm gonna go get changed, Kay?" I say as I stand from Draco's lap. He nods, his hand resting under his chin upon the armrest, still dazed. I sigh quietly and kiss his cheek before leaving the room and making my way upstairs. I walk the hallways silently, pulling my warm jumper sleeves over my cold hands. I've nearly reached my room when I notice an open door with light spilling out, on the other side of the house. I make my over curiously, stopping in front of the door when I see Lucius looming over something on the desk he's sat at, an expensive solid gold quill in his hand - Of course. The sleeves on his white shirt are rolled up as he concentrates on his task. I see this as an opportunity to get answers, so I slowly open the door more before walking in. He lifts his gaze to meet mine and his eyes widen when sees me. He swiftly rolls his sleeves down and buttons the cuffs as I walk in. I smirk a little, satisfied with his reaction as I reach the seat in front of his desk. "Hello." I say, trying my hardest to sound as assertive as possible. His lips curl a little at the corners. "I do apologise Miss Rivera, but I am busy in this moment of time, if you don't mind..."
He gestures to the door."No, I don't mind." I sit on the chair in front of him, crossing one leg over the other. He raises his eyebrow and smiles, amused, as he sits back in his own chair. I take it as a sign to speak. "I would like to know what happened yesterday." He watches me carefully, folding his hands in front of him. "If you would care to elaborate." I give him an annoyed look but he doesn't speak. "Well, first of all... you kissed me." He stays exactly the same, his posture relaxed and calm. "I did. What about it?" I stare at him in disbelief. "Wha- I - are you serious?!" I stutter. He looks at me calmly. "I'm completely serious." I'm angry now - my voice rising a bit. "Why did you do it?" He breathes in deeply, leaning forward, placing his clasped hands on the desk. "I merely did it to keep you from opening your mouth, although I'm sure you would have still been willing." my jaw drops at his insult as he smirks amused. "And need I remind you that you kissed me back?"
"I- that's not fair!" I protest, but he merely shrugs, leaning back again. "Okay, fine then. Answer this - why were you so worried when I came back to the house?" His face changes now as something flickers across his face. I try not to smile in triumph - now he's trapped. "I don't know what you're talking about."
"Yes you do." I say slowly, frustrated now. "Who was downstairs?"
He sits up straight, rearranging his papers on his desk. "I told you - I don't know what you're talking about." He looks up at me. "Have you talked to Draco about this?" I bite my lip. Is he talking about our kiss or my suspicions? "No. He won't tell me." Instantly, he's relieved, obtaining his calm demeanour once again. "Then I suggest you discuss it with him. After all, you two are madly in love aren't you? No keeping secrets and all that." I take his last words as a bullet to the heart. Even though mine and Draco's relationship is fake, I still love him as a best friend. And I know what it would do to him if he found out I kissed his father.
