After training at night, I returned to bed with Kiyo. As I slipped in, he woke up. "Horiuchi, it's three in the morning. What are you doing?" He said, running a hand through his hair. "I was getting a drink. I couldn't fall asleep." I lied. He nodded, pulling me close to him. I wrapped my hands around him, and we fell asleep together. Soon, we woke up later than usual, and both went downstairs. Four men dressed in black suits and black glasses were talking to my mom and dad. When we came down the stairs, they immediately spotted me and began to talk to me.

"So, we have a few weapons we'd like you to try out." The leader finished. "You mind leading us to your weapons?" I nodded. This was a regular occurrence, people wanting me to test out their weapons. I began to lead them there, but stopped. "I'm sorry, but I didn't catch your name." I said, bowing to him. He smiled slightly. "Yoriku Katashi." He said, bowing back. And then I saw it, branded on the back of his neck. A single hand, surrounded by a circle of black flames. Doom's Hand. I thought. Feigning gratitude, I lead them to my weapon wall, there they all looked interested of what they were about to see.

I shot Kiyo a look, that read watch out, before opening the wall. As soon as I did, a small click sounded, and I felt the cold barrel of a gun being pressed to the back of my head. I laughed. "Why are you laughing? You know you're going to die. And so is your family." He growled. "I spotted you guys from a mile away. Tell me, how's that famous leader of yours?" I said. "Don't say another word." He said, pushing the barrel against my head so my nose was touching the weapon wall. "Get his family. And his little friend. Well, keep him and his friend alive. The second in command wants to say hello before killing them." The three men nodded and began to move towards the house. And that's when I made my move.

I twisted, grabbing the gun as he fired it and turning it, so the bullet struck the wall behind me. I jabbed his wrist joint with my elbow, breaking it as he screamed. I then twisted him around, and made his hand pull the trigger, killing his comrades, then kicked him away. I then grabbed something on the wall behind me: a small arm gauntlet, which I slid over my hand as he wobbled backwards, drawing a small dagger from his coat. "You can't stop Doom's Hand. We will overwhelm you, no matter how many people it takes. "Well, that's going to have to take a little while then," I retorted, closing my hand into a fist. A dagger shot out, and I grabbed it midair, adopting an attacking stance.

"Horiuchi? What's going-" my mom gasped as she viewed the scene in front of her. "Mom run!" I yelled as the man struck at me. I blocked, and pushed him away. "Tell me," the man growled as his eyes flicked to my mom and then back to me. "How's your family doing?" I roared and attacked him, slicing and dicing. I twisted, and he sliced at me, but he let his guard down. I slipped inside his strike, and pushed a shoulder into him, sending him flying backwards. "You've got no chance against me." I snarled as the man got up. He yelled and ran at me, but was smacked in the face in the chair by Kiyo. The man fell backwards, dazed as he hit the ground.

I moved over to him, storing the dagger back into the gauntlet. "Who really are you?" I asked. "I'm a John Doe. A faceless, nameless Hand of Doom." He said, blood tricking from his lips. "And we cannot be captured," he said, pulling a small bottle from his coat, which he downed in a single sip. He began to convulse on the ground, before finally stopping, foam coming from his lips. "Who was he? Who are they?" Kiyo asked, gesturing to the men. I kicked the now dead one onto his stomach to view the brand in his neck. "He's one of them." My dad said, disgust in his voice. "One of who?" Kiyo asked again. "A Hand of Doom. He's one of their henchmen. They have those symbols branded into them." I said.

Kiyo nodded, setting down the chair and sighing. It was then I realized he didn't have his mask on. "Um, Kiyo, you don't have your mask on." "I know." He replied. My parents both looked at him in surprise. "Also, how did you manage to swing that chair?" I asked. "You got shot in your shoulder, didn't you?" He nodded. "I don't feel much pain in there now. I'm guessing it was a combined effort of me healing and adrenaline." He said. "Well then." My mom said. "We should probably have breakfast, shouldn't we?"

We quickly ate, then asked a mutual friend of ours to help us get the bodies out.

A/N: Horiuchi's parents know about the note, so that's why they didn't call the police.

After the bodies were out, we began to clean. "It's like one bad thing after another." Kiyo said to me as we both removed the bullet from the wall, and dropped it into the trash. "You getting shot, and now this?" I said to him. He nodded. I laughed. "It feels kinda like a dream. I never imagined meeting you would lead to these crazy events. Seems like I was pretty lucky." I said. "Well, luck plays no part." Kiyo said, letting his anthropologist side show a bit. "It was more of a series of events planned by the decisions we made." I laughed. "Come on, you. Let's get this cleaned up."
