Chapter 29:The Wedding

I sighed as I fixed my tie again, for the sixth time in about ten minutes. "You nervous, man?" Kaito asked jokingly. I laughed. "Nervous? I'm terrified." I responded. He set his hand on my shoulder. "It's gonna be okay. You're gonna be fine." I took a deep breath. "Yep, yep. Okay, let's do this." My mother was waiting for me at the entrance, and she looped her arm through mine. "I can't believe it. Today's the day your getting married." She said softly. I laughed. "God, I'm terrified." She laughed. Together, we pushed the door open, and we walked down the aisle.

Korekiyo POV
I was already waiting at the altar for Horiuchi to come out, and when he did, my jaw almost dropped. He wore a nice orange suit with a green undershirt and a black tie. He walked down the aisle with his mother, who looked extremely happy, while he looked nervous. She sat down as he walked up, and linked his hands with mine. The priest began to speak, and once he finished, we said our vows. "I remember when we first met." I said. "I knew that as soon as I saw you, I wanted to be yours. And we've gone through a lot together, mainly the pandemic, but I know that, now we are together, we can move forward." He nodded, and said his own vows. After he finished, the priest said, "Now, does anyone have an objection?" Nobody said a word. I slipped the ring onto Horiuchi's ring finger, and he did the same to me. "Well then, by the power invested in me, I pronounce you husband and husband. You may kiss the groom." He said.

We both leaned forward, and kissed passionately. Everyone began to stand up and cheer as we kissed, breaking apart a moment later. Everyone was cheering as we stepped down from the altar, hand in hand.

Horiuchi POV
I laughed as we stepped down and we're greeted by the people there. My mom wrapped her arms around both of us, crying with happiness. My father ruffled my hair, smiling. Someone tapped on my shoulder, and I turned to see Kaede there, in a a soft pink dress, while Shuichi wore a nice blue suit. I excused myself to go talk to them for a minute. I moved over to the side with them, and we began to talk. "Congratulations!" Kaede squealed, hugging me. I laughed, wrapping my arms around her. Shuichi did the same. We talked about what was going on, and I moved to go get a drink. As I did I bumped into a woman with black hair and an olive green dress. "Oh, I'm-" I was cut off as I looked up to see her. Ane. Kiyo's sister. "You." I snarled. "Me." She grinned, her crimson lips shining. "On the day of my wedding. You come here?" I growled, jabbing a finger at her. She tutted. "Careful. You don't want to end up in the hospital again." She trailed a finger down my sternum, making me shiver. Suddenly, a hand appeared on my shoulder. Kiyo glared at his older sibling, eyes narrowed. "Get out." He said simply. "Oh, why would I do that? I wouldn't miss my little brother's wedding. Even if it is to scum." She gestures towards me. "Scum?" I snarled, moving towards her, but Kiyo tightened his grip on my shoulder.

He pulled me away from her, and Shuichi and Kaede met up with us. "What happened? Who was that woman?" The blond asked. I sighed. "Kiyo's sister." She glanced from me to him. "Your sister? I thought she was-" "Well, not for a little while." Kiyo cut her off. "Do you remember when I was in the hospital?" I asked. They both nodded. "And I said I was attacked by three men?" They nodded again. "That was a lie. Kiyo and I were kidnapped by an organization known as Doom's Hand. Kiyo's sister is their second in command." I explained. "God you two have been though a lot." Kaede said. I chuckled. "You don't even know the half of it." She giggled. The DJ moved into the stand and clinked a glass of what looked to be wine. "Could we have the newly married couple lead everyone onto the dance floor?" He said, voice booming. I nodded to Kiyo, and he took my hand and led me onto the floor. He set one hand on my waist and my shoulder, and I did his.

We began to dance, spinning to the slow beat as more people joined us. Kiyo spun me into a dip as others joined, like my parents, Shuichi and Kaede, Kaito and Maki, Tenko and Himiko, the usual couples. We moved gently to the song, dancing slowly. Kiyo hummed to the song as we waltzed on the floor. I laughed as we moved closer to each other, our faces a few inches apart. "I love you." I said breathlessly. He nodded, smiling. "I love you as well." He moved to kiss me. "I know." I said as we broke apart. We then switched partners with the rhythm, and I found myself now dancing with Gonta. "Hello, Gonta." I said brightly to him. "Gonta is glad for Horiuchi! Gonta glad to be here at wedding to dance with everyone, even though Gonta not sure how to dance." I laughed. "Let me show you."

I taught him the basic steps of the dance, and we danced, and then we switched back so we were all with our original partners. Kiyo looked a bit disgusted. "I was dancing with Miu." I laughed. "Let me guess, anything that came out of her mouth was related to us or sex." He nodded. "And a bit of both sometimes." I kissed him.

Soon we all filed out of the room, and Kiyo and I returned home. We got ready to go to bed, and fell asleep.
