Korekiyo POV

I smiled as the doorbell rang, and I moved up to get the package. Horiuchi stood as well, but I turned to him. "I've got it." I said, opening the door to see an Amazon worker there, holding a package. I stepped outside, and he gave me the package. "Congratulations, sir." He said, smiling. I nodded, and walked back inside. "Ooh, what is it?" Horiuchi asked curiously. I shook my head. "You'll see later." I said, moving the box into my closet and locking it. "Aww, but I wanna see." He pouted. I laughed, brushing a stray lock of hair from my face. "You look like Oma." I said, and he laughed. "Oh, I need to ask. How'd you manage to defend yourself against my relatives." He asked, saying relatives as if saying 'trash and filth'. "I've been studying you. Your fighting patterns." I said. He smirked, eyebrows raising. "Wow, stalker." He said, moving over to me and pulling me towards him in a kiss.

I sighed into him, running my hands up his chest. He made a small noise, moving his hands down my back. My hands settled at his waist, and he jumped back, flinching. "Did I remind you?" I asked. He nodded, pale. I moved over to him, wrapping my arms around him and kissing his forehead. "It's okay." I said, kissing him again. He twisted and then grabbed the collar of my shirt, kissing me deeply. I hummed softly against his lips, moving into him. The smaller boy pressed harder against me, wrapping himself around me. We broke apart, and began to laugh. "You want to watch a movie or something?" He offered. I nodded. "We haven't finished Arrow yet." I said as he turned it on. We watched the show for a few hours, before we left for dinner. He didn't notice as I grabbed the box and opened it softly, sneaking out the contents.

We arrived at the restaurant soon, and we were sat down and ordered our food. We ate, making lots of conversation, talking about topic we hadn't discussed since the pandemic. We laughed and joked, thinking about everything that was going on. He smiled at me whenever I spoke, which I absolutely loved. As we ate I reached over and took his hand, smiling. Suddenly, a piece of food landed near us, and we looked up to see a few college age boys staring at us. "Go back home, fags!" One jeered. I smiled at him, turning back to Horiuchi, and then kissing him. The boys all made disgusted noises, and Horiuchi reached over, still kissing me, to flip them off. I laughed, pulling away from him.

"Hey, you guys!" A voice called out. We turned to see Shuichi and Kaede, along with Kaito and Maki. I waved to them, and they moved to join us at our booth. "How are you guys?" Kaede asked. "Pretty well." I responded. Kaede, sitting next to me, accidentally knocking over my fork. We both moved to retrieve it, and Kaede whispered to me. "You have it?" I nodded, feeling the small package in my pocket. We both sat back up, and I put my fork back on the table. We talked for a little while about what was going on, as we hadn't seen them in a long time. We shared stories, made jokes, and laughed at the amount of time it had been since we last saw them. "So, is there anything special going on between you two?" Kaede asked, wiggling her eyebrows. Horiuchi laughed. "No, I don't think we have anything planned in the near future." Horiuchi said. Maki smiled, viewing us both. "Maki, you're smiling." I noted, and she laughed. "I've actually been feeling better since I've started going out with Mr. Idiot here." She said, nudging Kaito. "I'm not an idiot." He said.

Horiuchi laughed. I set my hand on top of his again. "You want to tell them what happened yesterday?" I asked. He nodded. "What happened?" Shuichi asked. Horiuchi explained what had happened with his relatives. "Yeah it was horrible. I even have a few scars." He said, pulling down his shirt slightly to reveal the scars on his chest. "Where do they live?" Maki asked, feigning politeness. I laughed. "Maki, no. Even though they're garbage, I don't want you to kill people for me." Horiuchi said. Maki sighed.

After dinner we left, and we moved to go to the park. I sighed happily, my hand wrapped in his gently squeezing. The darkness soon fell, and the sky was now dotted with stars as Horiuchi walked ahead of me. "Hold on. You've got something on you. No, I've got it" I said as he looked around worriedly. I moved behind him, brushing my hand over his back as I pretended to get something off. And then I knelt down behind him.

Horiuchi POV

"Got it." He said softly, and I turned to see him kneeling on the ground, mask and hat off, and holding a small box. He smiled at me as I sighed, my face turning red as I looked at him, grinning. "Kiyo..." I said softly. "Horiuchi, you've made the last year so memorable for me. And I want to remember all of it. I want to spend the rest of my life with you. Together. And I ask: Horiuchi Yoshiro, will you make me, the happiest man on the face of the earth?" He said, smiling and holding out the ring. "K-Kiyo...Yes." I said. "Yes. Oh god yes." I said as he slipped the ring in my finger. I laughed as he picked me up, kissing me tightly, and swung me around. We broke apart, him still holding me. "Oh, I love you." He said, smiling at me, eyes shining. "I love you too." I replied, weak with happiness. Suddenly, a storm of cheering reached my ears, and saw Shuichi, Kaede, Maki, and Kaito there, both boys holding out their phones. "You guys!" I said, walking over to them and hugging them, one by one, even Maki, who actually hugged me back.

Soon, we went home, the ring resting on my finger as I hugged Kiyo tightly. We video called my parents that night.

"So, ahem, we have something to tell you." Kiyo said. "What is it, Korekiyo?" My father asked. Kiyo turned to me. I nodded, and as an explanation, held up my now ringed hand. My mother squealed with excitement at the ring, and my father began to laugh. "Oh, I can't believe it! My little boy's going to get married!" She shrieked happily. "Honey, calm down. You're going to wake the neighbors." My father said, still laughing. "Son, we're proud of you." He said to me. I nodded, still smiling. I laughed, as my mother began to list off wedding venues, and arrangements for the wedding. "Mom, mom." I laughed. "We just got engaged. No need to have everything already planned out." She laughed as well. "Sorry you two. I get excited when it comes to weddings." She said gleefully. He nodded and I laughed. "Well, what happened?" My mother asked. I recounted the tale to her of what happened just a little while ago. She sighed. "That sounds beautiful. Kind of like our engagement. A small picnic under the stars." She said breathlessly. "Well thank you for calling." She said. "We're glad you showed this with us." My father said. We ended the call as my phone buzzed.

I opened Instagram to see a post from Shuichi.
