Nancy's P.O.V

"I totally get. I understand..." I agree with Tory.

It's really shocking though. It's painful at the same time. He doesn't know what his real parents look like or their relatives...or the relatives of the man that took care of him.

I would have loved to meet the friendly old man Tory said took care of him since childhood. He raised a gentleman.

I know, I don't really know Tory. I know that, but he seems like a great guy.

"So, any other question, my lady " he flashes me a charming smile.

He's really handsome.

Nah uh, Nancy. Remember what mama taught you...

I smile, clearing my head. " How about you tell me about your boss -- I mean, if that's fine with you..."

He bends his head low, so I can't really see his face, but he looks like he's uncomfortable with the question.

"Uhm... " He lets out a forced laugh. " I - I don't wanna answer that, Nancy... " He wrinkles his brows. "No offense. Just that uhm - its kind of one of her rules not to talk about her at all to anyone or anything, in fact. Most especially to rich people - or as she calls it ' rich hags '. No offense.."

Okay...

"Okay then. I have heard all you said and I'd like to help you - Or are you gonna tell me it's also one of her rules for her staff to not be helped by a 'rich hag'? " I laugh sarcastically.

He only frowns, like what I said is true.

"You've got to be kidding me." This is unbelievable. "She also said that too, Tory? Is she now the owner of your life? This is too much! It is ... I'm sorry for saying this, but you need to quit"

I don't know what I'm doing, but I just can't let a woman control this young man's life!

Speaking about women empowerment these days... Its getting out of hand with some women. Sheesh.

He looks at me like I've just snatched something precious from him. "I'm sorry, what did you just say?"

"I - I, I meant you should try to step up your game. You shouldn't let her push you up or down. You're a young guy, Tory. You've got a lot ahead of you and I don't know... I just think that this boss of yours is trying to ruin your life." I struggle to get the words out. "No offense " I add.

"Unbelievable. " He mutters.

"Excuse me? " I scrunch my nose at his response.

Did he just say 'unbelievable'?

To me...?

"Yes Nancy... Unbelievable! I said it. It's unbelievable how I risked my job coming out here to meet you. It's unbelievable how I was able to even spare my little strength from work to meet you tonight. It's also unbelievable how you just start asking me questions like I'm your lost son that you're trying to have a get together with. Did I also mention how unbelievable it is that you're telling me to quit ?! "

I think he's angry.

But I can't help the first sentence he made...

How he risked his job to meet me...
