Nancy's P.O.V

"Can you speak up?" I demand lightly. I can't hear a thing she's saying. She's practically murmuring to herself.

Nina hisses, shaking her head. "Can you stop being bossy and just listen?"

Yes. Nina flew back from London and is back to Nigeria. With me. In Mr Thompson's office. Although I don't know when she got back... Mr Michael called yesterday evening to inform me about the changes that will take place; like the selling of the company which had me extremely thrown off guard by the way. He said we should meet up today to discuss it properly. So here I am, in the presence of my twin (who has been snubbing me for weeks) and Mr Thompson. As you can imagine, I'm not too thrilled at the moment, but I will give listening ears.

I roll my eyes but keep silent. I know I'm not being bossy, she's just annoyed that she's done something bad. Her conscience is haunting her.

She sighs. "I know that what dad's company is facing right now is my fault. I mean, I tried. I flew to London for a vacation, then decided to use the opportunity to visit Nick Arthur to propose a new business deal or anything at all he had in mind; even though I didn't seek permission from Mr Thompson... You remember him right? The British man that partnered with us two years ago? Nick Arthur?"

I give a silent nod. I do remember him. She doesn't have to talk to me like I'm a toddler or something. Jeez.

"Okay, well when I went to his office, he got upset. He lamented on how we hadn't replied all his emails and the documents for new business deals he sent, over weeks ago. And then he broke our partnership... completely. He wants nothing to do with us anymore. Nancy, I know you have no clue how dad's company works, but know this; Nick Arthur was literally our last hope. Henry took a lot and it hit hard. It was even of recent that Mr Thompson here told me that some other investors had left. We owe the government, we owe some of our partners, there's no way out."

I'm just going to ignore how she bluntly insulted me about not having a clue on how dad's company works, even though it's true.

I nod, bending my lips to the side. "So...the only option there is now, is to sell what dad built?"

"What your father and I built, Nancy. We both started this... And now, unfortunately, it has to be sold to another person. I have to watch what Victor and I started many years ago go to someone else's hands." Mr Thompson corrects me. I can literally see the pain in his eyes as he says it.

It's actually sad.

"Isn't there another way out or something?" I ask. "Mr Thompson, have you searched thoroughly? Who knows? There might be another alternative that you just haven't looked at yet..."

He shakes his head. "There's nothing I haven't thought of, believe me Nancy. Me, of all people would be the last to want to willingly give this out just like that. I wish there was another way. Honestly, I do, but the debt just keeps getting worse."

I nod. "So what? We can start an investigation... Henry is just a simple cunning human. We can catch him, pay part of the debt and then start to gain people's trust again with baby steps, instead of throwing the company to someone else. I mean, we inherited this!" I may not know much about this company, but I do know it isn't something that should leave our legacy.

"Uhm...there's something I didn't tell you." Nina chirps nervously.

I give her a once-over. "And what's that exactly?"

She clears her throat and I'm bracing myself for the worst. Nina's rarely nervous.

"Henry is a hacker. A professional hacker."
