Nina's P.O.V

"Sir, it would really benefit both of us. Think well before decli-"

I'm cut mid sentence by his interjection. "Are you suddenly deaf? I said no. I am not making any business deals with your Enterprise anymore and that's final." Nick Arthur's words sting through like a heated knife pierced through my skin.

Why doesn't he want to be partners with us anymore? Where have we gone wrong?

I shake my head. "You can think this through. I'll come back some other time, maybe when your head is-"

"NO! What the hell is your problem? Don't you take no for an answer?" He's pissed. You can easily tell from his thick thunderous accent, plus the veins daring to claw out of his skin; not to mention his deep frown.

I'm pissed too. Who the fuck does he think he is to walk away from this company when we need him the most?

"No, sir! I'm stopping you from making a terrible mistake. You have been in partnership with our Enterprise for some time now. You can't possibly tell me you haven't gained something in the last years!" I try to reason with him.

He inhales sharply. "Your father's company used to be good. The money used to flow perfectly fine. The ideas coming in were great, but now, it's barely even returned the documents and new business deal contracts I sent last few months. I didn't get an apology letter, a call... Nothing! Even the emails I sent, no response. I don't do business with unserious people. The fact that you think showing up in my office in London after weeks of no form of communication at all will help, is a pity. Leave my office at once. Forcing me to do something I don't want to do is a crime, may I have you know."

I swallow, looking to the floor in embarrassment and shame. Every single thing he said is completely true. It's true that the company and it's paperwork has been neglected for weeks now. It's true that we didn't return the emails. Neither Nancy nor I took care of anything these last weeks, neither did Mr Thompson and I cannot blame him. He clearly said he was having family issues. He has tried for us. It's our turn to take up the responsibility.

I stand to my feet, nodding apologetically. "I am really sorry for the inconvenience, sir. It was nice doing business with you." I take my leave without any other word.

God, this is fucking terrible.

We just lost one of the greatest partners. I hope we won't loose another one. I wouldn't be able to handle it, considering the fact that Susan has broken up with Henry.

Yes.

It's 28th December; exactly four days since I started talking with Susan. I'm sure she wasn't careful enough cause Henry found out that I was tracking him down through her and broke all ties he had with her off. Now, there's absolutely no way to track him.

Yes. Even though I know I didn't use my Instagram account and Susan didn't know either, I'm pretty sure it wouldn't take an idiot to figure it out considering the demanding questions I had been asking about Henry's whereabouts, plus he's a hacker and is my ex. He would've found out sooner or later.

It broke me when Susan narrated to me that her 'boo' left her cause he saw our chats. I didn't need a fool to tell me that he found out. Since I had no business with her anymore, I blocked her and deleted the account.

What's the need of having her active? The main reason for using her was in vain.

I sensed it that sooner or later, Henry would find out. Hell, I knew it, but I at least expected him to stall a little; to buy me just a few more days.
