I know I have given you a shout-out already in the last two chapters...but that was for a different reason. This however, is for supporting my book with your votes 💖❤️

Nancy's P.O.V

"Who is it?" I ask as I approach my front door.

It's currently Saturday morning. Yesterday was when I visited Nina under the false alarm created by Paulina.

After we threw a mini party in the hospital, we dispersed to our separate destinations. I bid Nina goodbye with a kiss on her cheek (which is something I never pictured was going to happen in a million years). Honestly, I was very happy that yesterday.

I came back to the car where Samuel was staring in space with furrowed brows. When he caught my gaze, I could swear that I saw his chest breathe in and out in a happy sigh - more like he wasn't expecting me to come out alive. It was hilarious, really.

I didn't blame him. I never imagined that I would ever jump out of a car in that manner, especially not for Nina.

I didn't know my eagerness to get there was for a wrong cause - I didn't know it wasn't something to worry about.

Samuel asked if I was okay. I had told him yes. He looked skeptical about it, but thankfully didn't pry any further.

By the time I got home, it was already past 9pm and I couldn't help feeling giddy all over again, despite the late hour. I went straight to my kitchen, not taking in my environment at all - and took orange juice.

Don't ask me why. I know I have a freezer in my own room and all, but when you're happy sometimes, you never truly know what you do.

Am I right or am I right?

I was just over excited that Nina and I are finally on good terms. It feels good.

Afterwards, I headed back to the parlour where I met no bags littered on the floor. I was surprised but I had someone in mind that might have done it. It was probably Tory. I made a mental note to confront him about it when he wakes up today.

I then went straight to my room, spending literally 25 minutes in the bath tub, relaxing my body and mind. I hadn't felt so relaxed and happy since the last month when Cassius left. I knew that my life has started - my life as a mature human. I'm no longer dependent on anyone; people like Cassius. I'm learning and I'm happy about that.

After the bath tub session, I tried calling Cassius's number. It went straight to voicemail.

As usual.

...but I didn't let it bother me or spoil my mood. I'm used to it now. Whenever he gets the missed call, he'll call me. After trying his number, I sent Abby a text, telling her everything that happened today. I was really excited and my excitement couldn't be contained within myself alone, so I decided to share with someone and who else, better than Abby (my new friend).

She insisted on FaceTime, so I connected through. She was smiling throughout the call, telling me how happy she was, seeing me happy. She told me how tired she was. She said that the event isn't a small one and a lot of very important people will attend it, so she had to bring out her best to impress them. She was still on her private jet though. She hadn't yet arrived. She said she found out about the event's busyness because apparently, it's all over the internet (The internet that I haven't been to in days)... Popular American musicians will be attending it. I think she said it's something like a gala.
