Chapter 42

Nancy's P.O.V

"Absolutely. Your agent already sent me an email. He sent it last night. It will be my pleasure. Thank you so much for the invite."

Bethany, another popular actress who is in her late twenties, speaks: "You're welcome. I just wanted to personally call to inform you, you know? Cause it's the right thing to do..." She laughs, so do I. "I'm happy you agreed. I gotta go now. Talk later, Nancy. Greet Cassius and your boyfriend for me!" She cuts the call right after, not giving me a chance to react to what she said.

"Yeah, you too." I whisper, chuckling to myself as I throw my phone to the other side of the bed.

At some point, I completely forgot that the fake news about me and Braden dating is still on.

Bethany invited me to a party she's hosting where different celebrities will be present. It's like a gala. Am I allowed to call it that? She also invited musicians from across Nigeria to tag along, making the event entertaining and comfortable. According to her, it's a dedication to everyone for them to enjoy the holiday; Christmas and New year and I'm one of the specially invited guests. This isn't really the first time I'm being invited to such a thing, but it's a lot different cause Cassius won't be going with me, or planning how things will go. It'll be just me; maybe I'll take two or three bodyguards for safety, but still, it feels different.

Not to forget she told me to greet Cassius. How am I supposed to greet someone I haven't seen or heard from in a month plus?

Speaking of the holidays, New year is in 2 days. Wow, how time flies.

I didn't really get enough sleep because of what I found out yesterday when I came back from you know where.

Eat and breathe. I'm definitely going to pay that place a visit, either tomorrow or next. Today, I just want to relax and try not to worry my head too much about what's been happening. Possibly, call Mr Thompson and ask what's been happening with the company and what they've done concerning the money issue. I'm going to convince Tory to come with me. I'm sure he doesn't even know the history of that place.

It's past 11am now and just before Bethany called, I was going through social media, especially Nina' to check up on her. I sent her a text, saying we needed to talk. Wouldn't you know what she did...

She snubbed it.

She didn't return the text, nor call back after I left 5 missed calls. What she did was stupid; leaving the country without telling anyone; me especially. Yeah sure, she's mature and can make decisions by herself but couldn't she have told me? Am I that annoying of a person for her to not tell her whereabouts?

Even if she maybe wanted to think clearly about things happening in her life; the break-up, the money sorting and everything, the least she could have done was tell me she'll be leaving. I don't know, thinking about these things make me see myself as a prying, pestering person - which in my defense, I'm not, when you think about it. I had a dream and I'm strongly holding on to that dream. I don't know why all the things that has happened hasn't proved to me that the bad luck or bad incidence hasn't manifested yet. A thought at the back of my head is nagging me that it's going to be tragic or terrible. It kills me to know I don't know what exactly it is.

The discovery on Eat and breathe seemed like another relating path to the revelational dreams. I don't know why bad things just keep happening anyhow these days. It makes it hard for me to detect what is coming.

Gosh, I'm talking like a prophetess right now.

I called Abby way before I started stalking Nina's social media. She sounded normal; her causal goofy self and I gotta say, that put a smile on my face. I didn't want to bring up the topic about her mom; what she was going to do about the situation, even though I know she'll eventually face it soon. I just relished the fact that she was back to her normal self again. She also mentioned something about a meeting with Mr Harry. She said he's in town and would love to have a talk with us concerning the film; why it didn't get released the time it was initially scheduled to, and some other things. I'm guessing he already found out about the character change and every other illegal thing we did that we thought he couldn't find out sooner or later. I just pray he won't react the way my dream portrayed him to. Abby said that would be tomorrow or next; she wasn't totally sure, but she did say whatever the situation, she'll keep me updated.
