April 10, 2022

i kept looking myself over in the mirror, smoothing out my dress and making sure no piece of hair was out of place.

the dress was a strapless floor length gown with a small train and crystals placed all about the dress.

today was the day i marry the love of my life in our new home of california.

what he didn't know was that i was pregnant.

i figured as a surprise to him, i would throw it into my vows.

"you really think i should announce it in front of everyone", i ask my bestfriend who was also my maid of honor.

i had asked maggie if it was okay since she was my sister, but she was fine with it as long as i made her a bridesmaid.

"yes, it'll be the best surprise", lindy says adding more hairspray to my hair

i hear a small knock on the door and my kelly and maggie walk in.

kelly was also my bridesmaid.

their dresses were this beautiful sea foam green, strapless with a sweetheart neckline.

lindys was different in the sense that hers had straps.

"you look beautiful", kelly says.

her son, donny, was my ring bearer and my cousin celeste, was the flower girl.

"thank you", i tell her.

my mom and nan walk in next.

their eyes fill with tears.

"don't! you're going to ruin her makeup", maggie says.

she spent an hour making sure it was near perfect.

"i'm sorry, it's just, my baby looks so beautiful", my mom says.

"a princess", my grandma says.

"i love you all", i say. "thank you for being here with me today".

now they're all starting to cry.

"i'm watching my bestfriend get married today, that makes me so happy", lindy dabs at her eyes.

before we can get too emotional there's another knock at the door.

my mom goes and answers it.

"she ready?"

it's my dad.

"yeah", she responds opening the door.

i meet my dads eyes and his fill with tears.

"my beautiful girl", he says walking up to me.

"hi daddy", i smile letting a stray tear fall down my face.

"you ready to do this kiddo?", he asks.

i nod my head.

i look around the room and it's only the two of us.

"you're going to do great things, jess. this is just step one".

i smile at him trying so hard not to cry.

together we walk out of the room and down the hall.

i see everyone already lining up.

kelly and tyler.

lindy and hunter.

maggie and daniel.

the wedding song starts up and i'm instantly nervous.
