standing in front of me was the guy i have fallen so hard for in just a short amount of time.

what do i even say?

maybe i'll just close the door and pretend he's not here.

"i'll leave you", lindy says closing the door behind her.

"what are you doing here?", i ask looking at him.

he has his hands in his pockets.

he's already looking at me.

"i couldn't stop thinking about you", he says meeting my eyes.

i don't say anything.

"jessica, please just talk to me", he pleads.

"you were right", i say. "we can't do this".

he looks confused.

"i like you christian, i really do, but i don't want to come between you and your brother more than i already have".

i hear him sigh.

"you don't think it's worth it?",

i look down.

"i don't know..." i trail off.

he grabs a hold of my hands and i look up at him again.

"i think it is", he says bringing both my hands up to his lips kissing my knuckles.

"but your brother-".

"will get over it", he finishes.

"please don't give up on this. you're the first person i've ever felt this connected with. please just give me a chance", he adds.

again, i'm at a loss for words.

so i do the only thing i can think of.

i step forward and kiss him.

electric.

euphoric.

everything i wanted was in this human being and i was tired of trying to push him away.

he pulls away and kisses my forehead.

"i missed you", he whispers.

i smile.

"i missed you too".

we stand there in a comfortable silence.

my eyes still closed, i just take in the moment.

"do you want to come inside?", i ask him.

he nods his head.

"if lindy doesn't mind".

i laugh.

"my dads here too. but i'm sure he won't mind either".

taking his hand and holding the blanket, we walk back inside.

closing the door behind us, i lead him into the living room.

"you guys good now?", lindy asks looking at our intertwined hands.

i blush.

"yeah, we're good", he answers.

she smiles.

"good then we should go on a double date", she suggests.

i look at christian before looking back at my bestfriend.

"if jessica wants to", he says.

i nod my head.

"great! tomorrow ice skating rink. hunter and i will meet you there at 7".

"okay sounds good", i tell her.

she gets up and grabs her bag.

"i'll leave you guys, i have to go meet up with my mom", she says giving me a hug.

"it was nice seeing you, christian".

i hug her back.

"i'll call you tomorrow".

she nods her head before walking to the door and leaving.

-

i look at christian again.

"do you wanna help me bake cookies?"

he smiles at me and nods his head.

we walk into the kitchen and i start grabbing the ingredients.

"you make them from scratch?", he asks.

"what? does that surprise you?"

he shakes his head.

"no. i only ask because so do i".

i turn and face him.

"you bake?"

he smiles at me.

"what? does that surprise you?" he mocks.

i laugh.

"touché".

"i'm a good cook too. the food and desserts i make are really good", he adds.

"okay, let's not get too much of a big head here", i joke.

he chuckles.

"i'm serious. i'll have to cook for you sometime", he suggests.

i take out a bowl.

"i'd like that".

looking through a cabinet i find my grandmas recipe for sugar cookies and take it out.

"ooh she has a recipe", he teases.

i roll my eyes.

"shut up it's my grandmas. they're so good."

he laughs.

"i'll take your word for it. i'm trusting you".

we get started on the cookies and he helps me mix everything together.

-

i'm concentrating on cutting out the cookies when i feel something hit my shoulder.

i turn to my right and christian is looking at me with a smug look on his face.

"did you really just do that?"

he smirks.

"oops".

taking a handful of flour i throw it at him.

"sorry, my hand slipped".

soon enough we're in a full one flour fight.

laughing i throw an egg at him.

"really? an egg?"

he grabs me from my waist and pulls me into him.

looking up at him, he leans in and kisses me.

"what is going on in here?!", my dads voice booms from the back door.

christian and i quickly jump apart and look at him.

"you better clean this up before your mother gets home", he says sternly.

we both nod slowly and he disappears back outside.

i look at the mess we made and i sigh.

this was going to be a long evening.
