the next day i wake up to my phone ringing.

groggily i pick it up without even reading the name.

"helluh?", i say still asleep.

"rise and shine, jessica!", a chipper christian exclaims from the other end of the phone.

i groan.

"is there a snooze button?", i ask sleepily.

i hear him laugh.

"come on and get up, we're going to breakfast", he says.

"i don't think i can, it is thanksgiving christian", i say wiping the sleep from my eyes.

"that's why i woke you up this early", he explains.

i take the phone from my ear and look at the time.

7:37 it reads.

placing the phone against my ear again, i get off my bed and quickly go to my closet.

"okay fine", i say after a little bit.

"send me your address i'll go pick you up", he says happily.

i yawn.

"alright"

i can see his smile from through the phone.

"see you in 10, jessica", he says and hangs up.

ten minutes?!

i groan again.

this boy.

riffling through my clothes, i settle on a pair of leggings, a chunky sweater, and a pair of boots.

changing into my outfit i throw on a beanie and fix my hair before i look at my phone and see that he's here.

quietly i leave my room and make my way downstairs and out the door.

he's driving a nice SUV type car.

climbing in, i smile at him.

"good morning", i say putting on my seatbelt.

"morning beautiful", he says as he starts driving.

"you know we live right next to eachother."

i look at him raising an eyebrow.

"really?".

he nods his head.

"like not even five minutes".

i think for second but brush the thought of my head.

"so where are we going to eat?", i ask.

he gives me a look.

"wait and find out. it's a good place i promise", he reassures.

i turn my attention to the window and watch the neighborhood fall away into the city.

why was i so nervous? he was just a guy.

"we're here", he says parking in a small parking lot.

"a diner?", i question unbuckling.

"come on you'll love it" he says getting out.

following suit i grab my wallet and close the door.

he takes my hand and leads me inside the diner to a small booth in the corner.

"i'm guessing you've come here a lot?", i ask sliding in.

he nods.

"my friends and i used to come here all the time".

i listen to him talk about his life here and how passionate he is about a lot of things.

he's a very sweet down to earth person and i could definitely see myself with him.

too soon?

i couldn't think that way when i just met him not even 24 hours ago.

"jessica?", he questions looking at me confused.

"what?", i blush.

"sorry my mind wandered."

he smiles at me.

"i was just asking you how your life was here".

i look at him and start to think about my life and everything.

"well it was fine, i guess. i did cheer in highschool. all four years. i have a great family who you will meet tonight. my bestfriend lindy is coming in from arizona so you'll meet her too. i don't know it was not that much different then yours i guess", i say shrugging.

"so you were a cheerleader?", he asks.

i laugh.

"shut up okay? it was either that or pe. that's where i met lindy".

he nods listening to what i have to say and actually looking like he cares.

"and yes i still have all the uniforms", i add.

christian laughs.

"that's not what i...", he trails off.

i laugh too.

we order our food and eat while we have conversations about everything under the sun.

it was scary how much we had in common.

i look at my phone to see the time.

it was already 10:30.

"christian we have to get going. my family should be awake and i'm supposed to help with the food for later", i explain.

he nods putting money on the table.

"i could pay for mine", i say.

he shakes his head and helps me to my feet.

"i got it", he says simply.

taking my hand again, we make our way back outside and we walk to his car.

he opens the door for me and i'm blushing.

"thank you", i say.

he closes the door once i'm inside and goes over to his side of the car and gets in.

he drives off back in the direction of our neighborhood.

"so you still wanna come over right?", i ask him.

still nervous of the answer.

i see him nod his head.

"yes of course, i already talked to my parents, spending it half and half", he explains.

i nod.

"you can come around 1 since that's when we usually eat".

"awesome and then around 4 we can go to mine", he says.

i smile. "perfect".

he pulls up to my house and i look at him.

taking a deep breath i lean over the console and kiss his cheek.

"thank you for breakfast. i'll see you soon", i say.

"wear burgundy so we can match", he says.

i laugh but nod my head.

getting out of the car a rush up to my door and open it before going inside and closing it behind me.

i put my back against it and catch my breath.

he is going to be the death of me.
