december 22nd.

i've been looking at myself in the mirror for the past 20 minutes trying on my third gold dress because i didn't know which one looked better.

"you're still not ready?", my sister asks walking into my room.

i sigh looking at her.

"i don't know which one to wear".

she laughs.

"jess, they're literally the same".

i look at her before looking back in the mirror.

"don't tell me that".

she walks over to the other two dresses that lay on my bed.

"this one", she says picking up a spaghetti strap gold dress with little flecks of glitter.

"really?", i ask her. "be honest".

she groans.

"literally jessica, just wear this dress", she pushes the dress into my hands and shoos me into the bathroom.

i laugh changing out of the dress i was wearing into the dress she chose and made sure it fit right.

looking at myself in the mirror i fix my curled hair and walk out of the bathroom.

she's sitting on my bed looking at her phone and i clear my throat.

she looks up at me and smiles.

"that's definitely the best pick".

i smile at her.

"you're welcome", she jokes.

i roll my eyes and look at my phone.

shit, i curse in my head.

i'm already late.

grabbing my coat and my bag i rush downstairs, leaving my sister in my room.

going into the kitchen i grab the cookies i made and make my way to the door.

"bye mom! bye dad!", i yell.

"have fun, sweetheart", my dad yells back.

i leave my house and make my way to christians.

-

smoothing out my dress i knock on the door.

i wait a little bit before the door opens and christians mom is smiling at me.

"hi, jessie", she says giving me a hug.

"hi, mrs. seavey", i say hugging her back.

she takes my coat and hangs it up.

"i brought cookies".

she takes them from me and gestures to the living room.

"christians in there".

i smile at her.

"thank you".

slowly making my way to the living room, my eyes lock on daniels for a second before i look away.

seeing christian on the floor, i smile as i see him playing with who i'm assuming are his cousins.

he looks up at me and smiles back.

he gets up and walks up to me kissing my cheek.

"hi baby", he whispers. "you look gorgeous".

i look down blushing.
