(Y/n's POV)

~Five Months Later~

I knew it was coming this time. I was prepared.

No I wasn't. I was in the middle of a breakdown. I wanted to die. Eli was coming back, and I had to give them an answer. I wanted to say no, of course, by my dad would probably kill me... I was in a different dress this time, a silver dress with golden ribbon lacing the ends. My hair had grown out, now making myself look exactly like my mother. Well, almost exactly. My eyes were still a bright yellow, and I still had the cat ears and tail.

(A/N: sorry, but due to story purposes your hair is now a dark brown. It can change later on to whatever you want, your original color, or dye, I don't care, do what you want. I'm really sorry to do this, but a lot of this character is based off of myself, and I wanted to show some of that. You can forget about it if you want, it's only important for a few details.)

When dinner began, I sat there, picking at my food while our families made small-talk. I had been seated next to Eli had I noticed him glancing at me every once in a while. After a while, I heard him speak up.

"H-hey... are you alright...? You're shaking..." He whispered to me, looking genuinely concerned. I looked up at him, the color of my eyes startling him for a moment.

"U-um, yeah... just... nervous I guess..."

"Oh..." He's nice for a purebred teenage boy... maybe we can be friends... "J-just so you know, I didn't ask for this... I wanted to meet you, yes, but not marry you... at least, not right off the bat... depending on what happened, maybe, but like- I wasn't crushing on you like a stalker or something-"

I smiled at him for a moment before saying back quietly, "Thank you, Eli. I wasn't exactly worried, but it does make me feel better."

We were silent again for another few minutes before he looked into my eyes. "You can refuse, I won't mind." My eyes widened in surprise and I glanced at my Dad before looking back to Eli.

"I... t-thank you... I was a little scared that... you know... it would bruise your pride or whatever and then your family would hate us..."

He smiled at me and said, "Nope! I'd be happy with whatever you decide, because I want to be your friend." I smiled back for a moment before his mother called for our attention.

"Now, Miss L/n... we were wondering about your decision."

I was silent for a second, trying to build up the courage to speak. I purposefully avoided making eye contact with Dad, so that he wouldn't scare me into agreeing, but also showing him my intent.

"Y/n-" My father tried to speak up, his voice darkened with his anger.

"I'm sorry, I'm sure your son is a lovely young man, however I would like a few more years to find myself and possibly find love before choosing to marry anyone. However, I would l-love to keep relations between our families close, and become friends... i-if possible..." I trailed off near the end.

Eli's mother seemed surprised. "Well... I knew that you weren't planning on saying yes, but that was a very kind refusal. We would love to strengthen relations with your family, but we don't want to force any unhappiness on someone as lovely and kind as yourself." She smiled. "And- good luck with your own life. I wish you happiness with whomever you choose."

I smiled back, hoping that he wasn't too furious with me. After Eli and his parents left, I hurried to my room without any word to my dad. I hid behind my bed only seconds before the door opened and I heard his heavy breathing.
