Chapter 6: The Energy Converter

Simon POV

It's been 3 weeks since Y/n's mother disappeared the converters location is still unknown, but luckily I am close to finding it. I'm in Abby's penthouse and she said, "Simon take a look around make yourself at home. Um, I'll be in my room for a little while getting things set up so give me 15 minutes."

"Got it."

I turned on my comms and said, "okay I'm in. Is there anywhere you think Abby's mom would hide the location. I haven't met her unlike you despite being friends with Abby for the same amount of time."

I heard grunts coming from him training with Taskmaster and he said, "it's probably in a hidden room use the tech we put in your glasses to find it."

"Got it."

I activated the AR scanner to look and found a structural anomaly in the wall and that there was a keypad behind a family portrait.

I got to the keypad and saw that it required a 6 number code.

"Y/n any ideas what the code could be? 6 numbers."

Y/n: give me a sec I'm thinking. Maybe 112905.

"What's that supposed to be?"

"Abby's birthday."

I put it in and it was right and the wall opened up to a secret room. Inside was more spiders in cases with labels on them.

One case it read, optical camouflage, bio electric blasts. Another read propelled glide, and one on the counter read unknown.

On the counter was test results. It read, "so far testing with these spiders have been unsuccessful. It seems that you have to be a match to these things as if it's an organ transplant. If not then you will temporarily gain powers for a period of days, but afterwards you experience extreme pain and weakness. In some cases people have died of shock. It seems it was a stroke of luck that the spider that Spider-Man was bitten by was compatible to him. Unfortunately the one that bit him was one of the few that we had yet to put a tracker in so when it went with him he had no way of tracking it before testing these latest spiders on the 25th place tracers in case they escape."

These reports were written 2 hours ago. I got back to looking for the location of the energy converter. When I was looking the lights cut out. I hurried up and found it, it was at the records lab on 11th and cathedral.

I heard behind me the voice of a woman say, "thanks kid."

She kicked me into the case of spiders on the table and it got out.

When the lights came back on she was gone.

I felt the spider bite me and crawl away. I used the comms and said, "11th... and... Cathedral records lab. Be... careful she... knows the location too..."

I passed out on the ground.

Y/n POV

I got the message and said, "gotta go now."

Taskmaster: Don't falter this time.

"Don't worry I won't."

Taskmaster: be careful after all she's still better than you.

"Maybe, but I'm smarter."

I fully suited up and swung to the 11th and Cathedral records lab.

When I arrived it seems she made it before me.

I swung inside and found her threatening Lynda Osborn. I grabbed a piece of the door and threw it at the back of her head and said, "hey Cheshire, sorry to say but she isn't your Alice."
